Johnny Manziel invited to The Spring League… Celebrities signed a “bathroom bill”… Next installment of “American Horror Story”… Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia House… and Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa don’t talk
TMZ Sports is reporting that Johnny Manziel has officially been invited to join The Spring League, an independent pro football league. The Spring League is four teams made up mostly of NFL veterans and up-and-coming talent. They’ve already gotten commitments from former NFL players Greg Hardy and Kellen Winslow Jr. As far as Johnny, TMZ Sports says his offer to join comes with two conditions. First, he has to pass a USADA drug test on April 5, which would be the first day of the league And then he has to check in every night at 9:30pm with a team staff member.
Hundreds of celebrities have signed a letter opposing a Texas “bathroom bill” that would prevent transgender people from using the restroom according to their gender identity and not what’s on their birth certificate. Some of the biggest names include Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Ariana Grande, Sting, Jimmy Kimmel, Amy Schumer, and the list goes on and on. Part of the letter says, “Bills like these are poison, a barrier between Texas and its future.” But Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick says, “Texas is drawing a line in the sand and saying no” and that “the privacy and safety of Texans is our number one priority.”
Ryan Murphy says the next installment of “American Horror Story” will be about the recent presidential election. He told Andy Cohen, “I don’t have a title, but the season that we begin shooting in June is going to be about the election that we just went through.” And he wouldn’t give any other details. So! Who should they cast to play Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton? We do know that Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters will be back. Ryan is REALLY digging politics right now. Season 4 of his “American Crime Story” will be about the Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.
If you don’t love Chip and Joanna Gaines, WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?? Fans of their show “Fixer Upper” watched them restore a home they turned into a rental home they named The Magnolia House. Guests have to rent out the entire home — not just a room because this isn’t like a B&B — and prices range from $695-$995 per night with a 2-night minimum booking required! Reservations opened last night and within 20 minutes, The Magnolia House was booked for every single night between July and December.
When Michael Strahan announced he was leaving “Live! With Kelly and Michael,” Kelly Ripa threw a huge diva fit, refusing to come to work for a couple of days until she got an apology from the network bigwigs for keeping her in the dark. And Michael told “People” magazine afterwards, “At one point, I think we were friends. I don’t know what happened at the end.” Apparently, Kelly has a history of being excessively sensitive. In an interview with Larry King, Regis Philbin says when he retired from the show in 2011, Kelly took it personally and hasn’t spoken to him since! He said, “She got very offended when I left. She thought I was leaving because of her, but I was leaving because I was getting older and that wasn’t right for me anymore.” Regis says he’s never once been invited back to guest host, either.
Regis Philbin reveals to Larry that since leaving ‘Live with Regis and Kelly,’ he’s never been asked back to the show as a guest host.
