Lana Del Ray reportedly bought a multi-million dollar secluded beachfront property in Malibu in hopes of keeping her rabid fans at a distance. She has not accomplished that goal. An infatuated 19-year-old man was arrested after breaking into her home. Lana apparently wasn’t home at the time. A construction worker discovered the man in the garage and he took off. But he was caught later with one of Lana’s books that he’d apparently taken as a souvenir. He’s been charged with felony burglary.
After giving us “The Sound of Music” and “Peter Pan,” NBC is going live again tonight, giving us “The Wiz!” Mary J. Blige stars as the Wicked Witch of the West and she told E! News that she doesn’t have time to be nervous. She said, “I have to deliver. So, nerves? I have to brush that off.” The guy playing the Scarecrow, on the other hand, is not so good under pressure. Elijah Kelley said, “I hope that I’m not throwing up and boo booing on myself because I know I’m going to be nervous.” Also starring in the Wiz — Ne-Yo as the Tin Man, David Alan Grier as the Cowardly Lion, Queen Latifah as the Wiz, and newcomer Shanice Williams as Dorothy. The woman who originally played that role on Broadway — Stephanie Mills — is now playing Auntie Em.
Mariah Carey showed up on time for an event?? And she didn’t make any diva demands??? What was she….sick?? Actually, yes! Mariah was very sick. After being a trooper for her appearance at the Pier 1 Imports pop up store in Soho, she was rushed to the hospital to be treated for a severe case of the flu. Mariah was hooked up to an IV filled with fluids and vitamins. She’s trying to recover before her next scheduled appearance — a concert in New Jersey on Saturday. At this point, that’s up in the air.
To reward her entire crew from the 1989 World Tour for all their hard work, Taylor Swift took them all on vacation to Hamilton Island in Australia! She posted a photo with her band and crew and captioned it, “So stoked to be able to take my band and crew on a vacation at the end of a long and wonderful tour. For all their hard work this year, they really deserve it. Thank you to Hamilton Island for taking such great care of 125 of the people who work tirelessly to make sure the 1989 World Tour stage gets built, the lights are on, the costumes are made, the guitars are tuned, and the show goes on.”
Rumors are rampant that Rihanna is set to release her 8th studio album, “Anti” on Friday, but it was SUPPOSED to be a surprise. So will that make her change her plans? Rihanna’s new album is expected to include collaborations with Kanye West and Travis Scott, her rumored boyfriend who’s going on tour with her to promote the album next year.
