Listen to “Showbiz – Oct 27, 2022” on Spreaker.
In celebrity real estate, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker finally got their first house together. They bought Conan O’Brien’s Santa Monica beach house for $14.5M. It’s only 2BR/3.5BA so this obviously won’t be a primary residence. It’s probably more like a romantic getaway. Kourtney and Travis still haven’t fully moved in together because Kourtney didn’t want to disrupt the lives of her three children. Travis also has 3, but they’re full-grown. And Lizzo just bought a house in Beverly Hills that was once owned by Harry Styles. He had it from 2014-2016, and then sold it for $11M. That person has now sold it to Lizzo for $15M. Lizzo’s new place is described by Architectural Digest as a “stylish treehouse-like building.” It’s a 5300 sq.ft. house covered in wood and has an open-air atrium with a fig tree. There’s a glass-walled breezeway that leaves to the massive primary suite that has a floating fireplace, a bespoke wood-walled dressing room, and a spa-like bathroom with a concrete soaking tub. They said the movie theater resembles a “chic high-tech cave replete with a fireplace.” There are also multiple decks and terraces and a 58-foot infinity pool with canyon views.

Adele is finally comfortable enough to kick off her Las Vegas residency on Nov. 18, with 8 new shows added to the previously rescheduled 24. There are a few seats available for the 32 shows, but those who had tickets to Adele’s canceled residency back in January get first dibs. And Adele has big plans after her final show on March 25th. In a Q&A with fans, Adele said she really wants to get a degree in English literature, and that if she hadn’t made it as a singer, she’d definitely be a teacher. Adele said, “I definitely feel like I use my passion of English Lit in what I do. But even though it’s not like I’d go on to get a job from my degree, I wish I had gone to university, I wish I’d had that experience.” Adele isn’t going the traditional route. She plans on getting her degree online with a tutor.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed a three-book deal worth $42M with Penguin Random House, and now we finally have a name and a release date for Harry’s memoir. SPARE will be released globally on Jan. 10, 2023. “Spare” is obviously referencing the nickname Harry was given before he was even born….Remember “the heir and the spare”? The book got pushed back after the death of Queen Elizabeth. Reportedly, Harry wanted to rewrite a few sections to make them less critical of the Royal Family and add a chapter on his grandmother’s death. In the press release it says, “Spare takes readers immediately back to one of the most searing images of the twentieth century: two young boys, two princes, walking behind their mother’s coffin as the world watched in sorrow—and horror. As Diana, Princess of Wales, was laid to rest, billions wondered what the princes must be thinking and feeling—and how their lives would play out from that point on. For Harry, this is his story at last. With its raw, unflinching honesty, Spare is a landmark publication full of insight, revelation, self-examination, and hard-won wisdom about the eternal power of love over grief.” Sources say Harry’s family is really nervous about what Harry will say, calling it a ticking time bomb.

Just this week, Adidas finally dropped Kanye West after he finally crossed their line and made antisemitic comments. Yesterday, Kanye showed up uninvited to Skechers headquarters in Manhattan Beach, Calif., saying he wanted to talk to executives there about possible business opportunities. Skechers released a statement letting everyone know that Kanye definitely wasn’t invited and they had no idea he was going to show up. A spokesperson said, “Considering Ye was engaged in unauthorized filming, two Skechers executives escorted him and his party from the building after a brief conversation…Skechers is not considering and has no intention of working with West. We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech.” And just to reiterate the fact, the statement concluded, “Again, West showed up unannounced and uninvited to Skechers corporate offices.”
By the way, Skechers is owned and operated by a Jewish family. The company was founded in 1992 by Robert Greenburg, and his son Michael is the sitting president.

Five months since giving birth to their baby boy, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky walked the red carpet for the premiere of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” in LA. The movie hits theaters on Nov. 11 and those who know these things predict it will open with $175M. But the reason Rihanna was at the premiere is because she is part of the movie’s soundtrack and her single, “Lift Me Up,” will debut tomorrow! This is huge news for Rihanna’s fans who’ve been begging her to get back in the recording studio for years. Her last album “Anti” came out in 2016. And her last single “Believe It” with PartyNextDoor was in 2020.
