Weekend box office news… MTV Movie Awards recap… Guy Ritchie drops son Rocco off at Madonna’s London home… Khloe Kardashian’s cryptic posts… and Rob Kardashian & Blac Chyna wedding TV special worth millions
“The Boss” claimed first place at the box office this weekend with $23.5 million. “Batman v. Superman” was SO close with $23.4 million and a second place finish. Coming in third was “Zootopia” with $14.4 million. “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2” took fourth with $6.4 million and “Hardcore Henry” rounded out the top five with $5.1 million.
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” was the big winner at the MTV Movie Awards. With 11 nominations, the movie took home three awards: Breakthrough Performance for Daisy Ridley, Best Villain for Adam Driver (who played Kylo Ren) and Movie of the Year. “Deadpool” won Best Comedic Performance for Ryan Reynolds and Best Fight. “Pitch Perfect 2” won for Best Ensemble Cast and Best Kiss for Rebel Wilson and Adam DeVine.
The ice may be melting a bit between Madonna and her son, Rocco. Guy Ritchie dropped off their 15-year-old son at his mom’s home in London yesterday. It’s the first time Rocco has seen his mom since he bailed from her tour four months ago. He hung around for about two hours and then took off on a skateboard with his buddy. A judge has warned Madonna and Guy to resolve the custody issue privately or be back in court in Manhattan June first.
We can all read between the lines and interpret this any way we want, but Khloe Kardashian posted a lengthy message on Instagram yesterday, saying in part, “It doesn’t matter how loyal you are to someone, you can’t change someone’s heart and bad habits unless they want to themselves.” The post comes days after Lamar Odom was spotted buying drinks for his buddies at a bar in Sherman Oaks. Khloe called off their divorce and nursed Lamar back from the brink of death, but now sources say she’s concerned he’s going back to his old ways. She wrote, “We have to learn to stop taking on peoples problems as if they are our own. Loving people does not mean we have to carry their burdens and confusions on our back…You can’t force someone to be the person you need them to be. Even if it’s for their own good!! Sometimes the person you want most is the person you’re best without.”
It’s hard not to watch Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna, and that’s what several TV producers are counting on. TMZ is reporting that several offers are being put together for the couple to document their march toward that altar, but Rob would have to go against his family to get paid. How much money are we talking? The couple are looking at up to $200K per episode EACH, plus $500K for the grand finale — the wedding episode! But Kris Jenner may have something to say about all this. She has Rob under a blanket deal with E! that gives the network first dibs on any Kardashian projects. And Kris is NOT a fan of this reality project, so there could be a big battle brewing.
