Weekend box office news… SZA & Sephora update… Kylie Jenner in the ER… Adam Levine performs at bat mitzvah… and Robert Pattinson is officially the new Batman

Grae Drake predicted it! “Godzilla: King of the Monsters” was number one at the box office this weekend, but nobody’s jumping up and down about it. The movie earned only $49 million in its debut weekend. The critics on RottenTomatoes.com aren’t loving it. Only 39 percent have given it positive reviews. Audiences gave it a B+ CinemaScore. “Aladdin” got bumped down to second place in its second weekend with another $42.4 million. Coming in third was the new “Rocketman” with $25.1 million. The movie studio is said to be real pleased by that. The weekend’s other new release, “Ma,” opened in fourth with $18.4 million, and “John Wick: Chapter 3” was fifth with $11.2 million.

Back in April, SZA tweeted about her bad experience at a Sephora: “Lmao Sandy Sephora location 614 Calabasas called security to make sure I wasn’t stealing. We had a long talk. U have a blessed day Sandy….Can a b**** cop her fenty in peace er whut.” Sephora saw that and responded the next day, “You are a part of the Sephora family, and we are committed to ensuring every member of our community feels welcome and included at our stores.” And to prove that point, this Wednesday morning, Sephora is closing down their stores to host inclusion workshops for all employees, including those working in the distribution centers and corporate offices. And in a recent Instagram Story, SZA posted that Rihanna sent her a Fenty gift card along with a handwritten note that said, “Go buy yo Fenty Beauty in peace sis!”

Kylie Jenner rushed her baby Stormi to the emergency room yesterday, but everything is okay now. She posted a picture of her sleeping 15-month-old on her Instagram Story, writing, “Spent the day in the hospital with my baby. She had an allergic reaction but is 100% okay now and we are home.” She didn’t share what caused Stormi to have an allergic reaction.

Adam Sandler wanted to do something special for his daughter Sadie’s bat mitzvah, but he waited until the last minute to figure out what he wanted to do. He must’ve seen on the news like we all did that Adam Levine was suddenly free, because, as he told Jimmy Kimmel, just DAYS before his daughter’s big day, started texting Adam. Sandler said to Levine, “I’m sorry to do this to you, but my kid’s getting bat mitzvah’d Saturday night. Would you mind coming and singing a few tunes? It would be incredible.” And he said yes! Adam showed up with Maroon 5’s lead guitarist, James Valentine, to do 3 songs.

Variety broke the story first — Robert Pattinson will star in “The Batman,” which hits theaters on June 25, 2021. At the age of 33, this makes Robert the second youngest actor to take on the role in the movies. Christian Bale was only 31 when he starred in “Batman Begins.”
