A number of celebrities were posing on the red carpet for the 37th Footwear News Achievement Awards in NYC last night. Who knew there was such a thing, but it’s known as the “Shoe Oscars.” Lea Michele, Kate Upton, Karrueche Tran, Shaquille O’Neal all posed for the paparazzi, as well as Jessica Simpson, who was there to receive the Icon Award for her achievements in the world of shoes. While speaking with Footwear News about this honor, Jessica revealed that she’ll have a new album and tour coming next year. Jessica moved her family to Nashville over the summer to write music for it. This would be Jessica’s first album in 13 years. The last one she put out was Happy Christmas in 2010.

Everyone is coming out with their end-of-the-year lists, including Spotify. As it turns out, 2023 has been Taylor Swift’s year! On top of her record breaking tour and movie, she found love again with a hot football player. And now, Taylor has been named Spotify’s Most-Streamed Artist of the US this year, with 6.1B listens since January — and the year isn’t over yet! She surpasses Bad Bunny, who earned this honor for the past 3 years. In fact, Mr. Bunny got bumped down to No. 5 on the list. Sandwiched between him and Taylor are Drake at No. 2, followed by Morgan Wallen and The Weeknd. Morgan’s Last Night was the Most-Streamed Song in the US, followed by SZA’s Kill Bill, Miley Cyrus’ Flowers, Eslabon Armado and Peso Pluma’s Ella Baila Sola, and Ice Spice and PinkPatheress’ Boy’s a Liar Part 2.

Just 24 hours after Cassie filed a lawsuit against Diddy for violent sexual assaults, they settled. She said, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control.” Diddy’s lawyer said, “Just so we’re clear, a decision to settle a lawsuit, especially in 2023, is in no way an admission of wrongdoing.” Since then, two more women filed lawsuits against Diddy claiming they were also abused. And now, Diddy’s former bodyguard — who was actually named in Cassie’s lawsuit as a witness to her abuse — has come forward to validate Cassie’s claims. Roger Bonds worked for Diddy over 10 years ago, and he says Diddy’s abuse wasn’t limited to Cassie. He witnessed Diddy’s abuse against multiple women and got sick of covering up for him. So, when he was diagnosed with diabetes, he used that as his way out. He posted a video message to Diddy on his Instagram explaining, “My excuse was, I can’t be with you every day…I’m losing weight, I’m doing that, but in reality, it was I was sick. I was sick of you and I was sick of everything going on around you. I was sick of having to cover up everything you did. I was sick.”

The day before Golden Bachelor Gerry picks the women he hopes to make his next bride, The Hollywood Reporter posted an article that exposes him as a fraud. Gerry’s story is that he married his high school sweetheart Toni and they had a blissful marriage for 43 years. Sadly, Toni passed away a month after they had moved into their dream home on a lake, and Gerry claims he hadn’t dated anyone since. But THR says that’s not the case. In fact, they claim they saw texts Gerry sent to a woman they’re calling “Carolyn” less than 3 months after his wife died, in which Gerry allegedly wrote, “Damn, I go to bed at night thinking of you and wake up in the morning thinking of you…” “Carolyn” claims they not only dated for 3 years, she and Gary lived together in that dream house! She said everything was fine until 2019, when she claims Gerry uninvited her to his high school reunion because she’d gained 10 pounds. That led to them breaking up, but while she was packing her things to move out, “Carolyn” claims she fell down the stairs and ended up needing foot surgery. She said Gerry then accused her of using her fall as an excuse to stay in his home and suggested she was going to sue him!

Back on Halloween, Sabrina Carpenter released a bloody, revenge-filled video for her song Feather. Basically, a bunch of guys who hit on Sabrina are killed off in a number of violent ways and at the end of the video, Sabrina is celebrating at their funerals, wearing a super cute dress while dancing around inside a church and posing with religious items placed around the altar. Rather than build a church set, the video was filmed inside the Our Lady of Mount Carmel-Annunciation Parish in Brooklyn. After the video debuted, Bishop Robert J. Brennan told the Catholic News Agency that he was appalled, saying, “The parish did not follow diocesan policy regarding the filming on Church property, which includes a review of the scenes and script.” As a result, the priest who approved filming in his church has been relieved of his duties. He posted an apology on the church’s Facebook page, explaining that when he was asked about Sabrina Carpenter filming in his church, he looked online and didn’t find anything negative about her. And he thought having a music video filmed in the church would actually “strengthen the bonds between the young creative artists who make up a large part of this community.” Later, the priest told the New York Times that he was told that they were just going to shoot a funeral scene, but the result was “not what was initially presented” to him. Sabrina isn’t apologizing. When asked about the video, she said not only did they have permission to film, Jesus would be a fan. She joked that He was a carpenter — referencing her last name.
