Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry 80’s wedding concert… Michael Strahan is joining “Good Morning America”… Columbus Short may be off the hook… Miley Cyrus’ dog passed away… and Jennette McCurdy might lose her job
The only reason I’m doing a story about Sara Gilbert and Linda Perry getting married is because it happened to be an AWESOME 80s concert with a little wedding sprinkled in. Linda fronted 4 Non Blondes in the early 90s and has gone on to write hits for other artists like Pink (“Get the Party Started”) and Christina Aguilera (“Beautiful”). But Sara’s favorite bands were from the 80s, so Linda surprised her with some of her favorites. She set up the venue This 80s tribute band called Flashback Heart Attack performed “I Want Candy” with Annabella Lwin from Bow Wow Wow, “Only the Lonely” with Martha Davis from The Motels, “Destination Unknown” with Missing Persons’ Dale Bozzio, and “The Metro” and “Take My Breath Away” with Terin Nunn from Berlin!! Among the celebrities in attendance were Sara’s “The Talk” co-hosts, Sharon Osbourne, Julie Chen and Aisha Tyler. Steven Tyler, Juliette Lewis and Tobey Maguire were also there. In fact, Tobey’s little girl Ruby jumped up and sand “Girls Just Want to Have Fun!”
Michael Strahan confirmed it this morning. He’s joining “Good Morning America.” No, he’s not giving up his “Live with Kelly and Michael” gig. He will appear on GMA 3 or 4 times a week, do a little commentary in live segments between 7 and 8:15am, and then head over to his “Live” gig, which starts at 9.
“Scandal” star Columbus Short may be off the hook for criminal assault charges. A couple weekends ago, he sucker-punched a guy who made a rude comment about Columbus’s wife, leaving the guy knocked out cold with a facial fracture, a massive concussion and serious neck and back injuries. But the victim told police he doesn’t want to press charges because of family ties. TMZ is reporting that this alleged fight happened at an engagement party for a family member and the victim wants to resolve this amicably. He just wants Columbus to pay for all his medical bills and let bygones by bygones.
Miley Cyrus went on Twitter yesterday to share some very sad news. Her Alaskan Klee Kai that she got 3 years ago passed away yesterday. She wrote, “Today is the 2nd worst day of my life. I don’t wanna say it because I don’t want it to be real…But my precious baby Floyd has passed away. I am broken. I know I don’t mean it but I wish he would’ve taken me with him this is unbearable. What am I gonna do without him? I am miserable.” She also apologized in advance for tonight’s show in Boston. She said, “I will try my best to be my best.”
“Sam & Cat” star Jennette McCurdy may have gone too far this time. Sources say Nickelodeon is reconsidering renewing the show for a second season after Jennette’s lingerie selfies were leaked on the internet. A lot of people assumed the lingerie scandal was the reason Jennette didn’t attend the Kids Choice Awards over the weekend, but she went on Twitter to explain her absence. She tweeted, “I was put in an uncomfortable, compromising, unfair situation (many of you have guessed what it is) and I had to look out for me…I chose to not go because sticking up for what is right and what is fair is what my mom taught me is ALWAYS the most important thing…No matter who or what you support, I believe in supporting fairness first. If you have done that, thank you.” She tweeted, “My previous tweet has nothing to do with pics leaked. oh you guys lol. It has to do with how nickelodeon treated me. That’s all. Thanks for the love. <3” According to Deadline.com, Jennette’s been causing trouble on the set of “Sam & Cat,” showing up late to work and showing more interest in her music career than her acting career. Plus, sources say she and co-star Ariana Grande aren’t getting along AT ALL.
