Stranger Things Officially Wins A Third Season

Weekend box office news… Arie Luyendyk’s “Bachelor” spoilers… Kelsea Ballerini & Morgan Evans were married… DJ Khaled’s 42nd birthday… and Stranger Things officially wins a third season

“Coco” held on to the number one spot at the movies this past weekend, earning another $26 million. Everybody who sees it loves it. What everybody is NOT loving is the 20+ minute “Frozen” short they threw on at the beginning. Originally, this was meant to be a TV special, but bigwigs behind the scene thought “Coco” and “Frozen” together made complete sense so they decided to surprise everybody. But reaction has been so negative that some theaters have reportedly stopped showing it. And now there are rumors that Disney may remove the “Frozen” short altogether.

Reality Steve says he’s been threatened with a cease and desist letter because he tweeted that he’s got some upcoming spoilers for Arie Luyendyk’s “Bachelor” season. But ABC isn’t the one threatening him. They probably love the attention. But the production company behind “The Bachelor” franchise doesn’t like that they go through all the trouble of keeping secrets and Reality Steve comes along and ruins all the fun. But Steve says he’s not backing down. He said, “They’re infringing on my First Amendment rights as a reporter and trying to squash my freedom of speech because they don’t like that I’m spoiling their show.”

Congratulaions to Kelsea Ballerini — or should I say, Mrs. Evans! She and Morgan Evans were married this past Saturday at the Esperanza Resort in Cabo. He’s an Australian country music artist. The two of them started dating last year and she says he inspired her song “Unapologetically,” which my daughter loves to sing at the top of her lungs. Kelsea said they wrote that song right after she got back from Australia and she said, “I remember just really in my head being like, ‘Oh, I feel it happening. Love is happening!’ but I couldn’t really talk about it yet. So before you talk about it, you write about it.” She posted the photo of their engagement on Christmas Day last year, captioning it, “This morning, 9 months and 13 days later, he got down on one knee in the kitchen while I was burning pancakes and asked me to marry him. Loving him has been the greatest gift of my life. And now I get to do it for life. #HECALLEDDIBS”

Your 42nd birthday isn’t usually considered a big deal, but we’re not DJ Khaled. Now, his birthday was actually November 26, but everybody’s schedule has been too busy so they finally got around to celebrating this weekend. DJ Khaled’s “The Four” co-star Diddy hosted the Arabian Nights themed party at a private estate in Beverly Hills. Guests included Fergie, Chris Brown, Usher, Pharrell Williams, Jamie Foxx, Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige and Kelly Rowland, who sang happy birthday. And of course, DJ Khaled’s 1-year-old son Asahd made a grand entrance in his Aston Martin stroller.

Netflix is so happy with the way “Stranger Things” is going, they’ve already announced that they’re bringing it back for a third season! They made the announcement on Friday, but they didn’t give us a target release date. The first season of “Stranger Things” picked up 5 Emmys out of 18 nominations and also won the SAG Award for Best Drama Series Ensemble. Season 2 came out in October and those kids are bound to be awards show darlings next time around.
