Listen to “Showbiz – Jan 25, 2022” on Spreaker.
It’s been a great ride, but Fredrik Eklund is done. He announced on Instagram yesterday, “After an amazing 11 years, I’ve decided it’s time for the next chapter of my life, and to leave Million Dollar Listing. It’s an end of an era and a new start for me. I let Andy (Cohen), the Producers and the Executives know last week how grateful I am. Eternally grateful, I mean what in incredible run we had together.” Fredrik was the last OG remaining on “Million Dollar Listing New York.” Back in 2019, he went bicoastal and began starring in the LA franchise, as well. Bravo hasn’t announced the cast for the upcoming seasons of either Million Dollar Listing franchise.

If we weren’t sure before, we are now. Olivia Rodrigo has unfollowed producer Adam Faze — on his personal AND professional accounts — which means she is officially back on the market. Olivia and Adam were first spotted together last June at a “Space Jam: A New Legacy” promotion at Six Flags Magic Mountain. The last time they were photographed together was in November, and things seemed just fine based on the PDA. But breakup rumors started around the New Year and then Faze moved from LA back to NY, and maybe that was the final nail in the coffin. In a recent interview with “Vogue” Olivia was asked about the best way to get over someone. She said, “Besides cutting off all contact, I think it’s important to not only forgive them, but forgive yourself for letting everything happen.”

After two weeks of deliberation (!), a jury has awarded Cardi B $1.25M in her defamation lawsuit against a YouTube gossip vlogger Tasha K. Tasha K basically terrorized Cardi online, calling her a prostitute, accusing her of being unfaithful to her husband, nicknaming her Herpes B…Cardi said the herpes rumor was particularly damaging to her online, and there were times when she felt “extremely suicidal.” Finally, Cardi had enough and filed a libel lawsuit against Tasha K, bringing dozens of videos to court to show just how vile Tasha K was toward her. The judge agreed with Cardi and found Tasha K guilty on three counts: defamation, libel for invasion of privacy through portrayal in a false light, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. And they decided all that was worth $1.25M. While there could be a future hearing to determine possible punitive damages, Tasha K’s attorneys will most likely appeal this verdict.
After a nearly three-year fight, Cardi B has won her federal libel case against YouTuber Tasha K.

More and more rumors are coming out about the real reason Adele postponed her Vegas residency. Sources are now saying the final straw for her was a swimming pool stunt she didn’t like. Sources told “The Sun” that Adele was supposed to stand in the middle of the pool, and “the intention was to fill it with water on the set as she was lifted up on a crane-type mechanism, creating the illusion she was floating on water.” The source said, “When she saw the finished design, she refused to take part. Adele described the pool as a ‘baggy old pond’ and refused, point blank, to stand in the middle of it.” There have been other stories about how Adele had been arguing with her set designer and clashed with Caesar’s Place over her 60-person choir. The Sun’s source said, “ In spite of the set costing millions to put together, Adele was unhappy with the result, and she made her feelings very clear. She was already nervous and the falling out sent her spiraling into a panic because she was desperate that everything should be perfect.”

Taylor Swift won’t stand for someone questioning her integrity as a songwriter. An English musician named Damon Albarn — he was part of the 90s band Blur as well as Gorillaz — did an interview with the LA Times and blasphemed, “(Taylor) doesn’t write her own songs. Co-writing is very different to writing. I’m not hating on anybody, I’m just saying there’s a big difference between a songwriter and a songwriter who co-writes. Doesn’t mean that the outcome can’t be really great….A really interesting songwriter is Billie Eilish and her brother. I’m more attracted to that than to Taylor Swift…I think she’s exceptional.” WHAT??? He accuses Taylor of only being a co-writer and his example of a great songwriter is a CO-WRITER?? Make it make sense, Damon! Taylor went straight to Twitter, “@damonalbarn I was such a big fan of yours until I saw this. I write ALL of my own songs. Your hot take is completely false and SO damaging. You don’t have to like my songs but it’s really [effed] up to try and discredit my writing. WOW.” She followed that up with, “PS I wrote this tweet all by myself in case you were wondering.” After being slammed by professional songwriters, producers and Swifties for a few hours, Damon tried to backtrack and put all the blame on the LA Times! He tweeted, “I totally agree with you. I had a conversation about songwriting and sadly it was reduced to clickbait. I apologize unreservedly and unconditionally. The last thing I would want to do is discredit your songwriting. I hope you understand.” Now the LA Times is made at Damon for throwing them under the bus.
