“Smile” debuted at number one over the weekend, with a strong $22M. The movie cost just $17M to make — before marketing — and was originally intended for streaming. It looks like the movie studio made the right call releasing it in theaters. By the way, the marketing department got real creative promoting this movie. They hired people to sit behind home base at several major league baseball games and just smile. Last week’s number one “Don’t Worry Darling” fell to second with $7.3M. “The Woman King” was close behind with $7M. “Bros” opened with $4.8M and a fourth place finish. This one cost $22M to make before marketing, so they’ve got a long way to go just to break even. Billy Eichner tweeted Sunday, “That’s just the world we live in, unfortunately. Even with glowing reviews, great Rotten Tomatoes scores, an A CinemaScore etc, straight people, especially in certain parts of the country, just didn’t show up for Bros. And that’s disappointing but it is what it is….Everyone who ISN’T a homophobic weirdo should go see BROS tonight!”

Season 17 of “The Rachael Ray Show” is back and later this month, she’ll be taping shows in the Ukraine. She told the New York Post, “It makes me cry to think about it. We’re going to an orphanage that’s also a church and a vocational training school and we’re going to build out their kitchens … and make borscht with the children there. We’re going to go back to a hospital [in Lviv], which is a central location for anyone who survives attacks….I didn’t want to do this, even privately, with a cellphone, because I’m not doing this for personal gain, like, ‘Oh, look at her, she’s doing work there.’ I hate people who wear philanthropy on their sleeves. They’re defending democracy for the free world and we can’t lose sight of that. We need to keep them in our hearts, spirits and minds.”

Nick Cannon’s now a father of 10. Over the weekend, Nick posted that Brittany Bell gave birth to their son Rise Messiah Cannon. This is his third child with Brittany. Their son Golden Sagon is now 5 and their daughter Powerful Queen will be 2 in December. Nick welcomed two other babies earlier this year. He and Bre Tiesi welcomed son Legendary in January. Just 9 weeks ago, model LaNisha Cole gave birth to their daughter Onyx. His 11th child is due before the end of the year with Abby De La Rosa.

The Securities & Exchange Commission charged Kim Kardashian with failing to disclose the payment she received for promoting EthereumMax crypto tokens on her social media. In a statement to HollywoodLife, Kim’s lawyer said, “Ms. Kardashian is pleased to have resolved this matter with the SEC. Kardashian fully cooperated with the SEC from the very beginning and she remains willing to do whatever she can to assist the SEC in this matter.” The SEC Chairman said celebrities — and other social media influencers, obviously — are required to disclose how much they’re paid when promoting security assets. Kim now has to pay the SEC $1.26M — a $1M penalty and $260K in disgorgement, which is the amount she was paid for the promotion. According to the SEC, Kim is also agreed not to promote any other crypto security for three years.

The U.S. Sun’s Simon Boyle posted, “Taylor Swift has worked with Ed Sheeran, Haim and Zayn Malik on her hits over the years. But I can reveal she is now gearing up for a far more surprising collaboration with rap superstar Drake.” Apparently, Taylor and Drake secretly recorded a song for her 2017 album “Reputation.” Simon says he learned it didn’t make the cut because it was deemed too direct toward Kim and Kanye. But now, Taylor reportedly wants to add it as a bonus track when she releases “Reputation (Taylor’s Version.” But first, Taylor is focused on releasing her next studio album “Midnights” on Oct. 21. “Reputation (Taylor’s Version)” is expected to be released next year.
