Bob Harper takes over “The Biggest Loser”… Will Bruno Mars be at Super Bowl 50?… Sofia Vergara and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting tie… Joe Simpson’s embarrassing moment… and Taylor Swift is the most followed person on Instagram

“The Biggest Loser” has lost its host, Alison Sweeney. But NBC has looked no further than its own show and asked trainer Bob Harper to take over as host. Bob has been there since day one as a trainer, and he’s still going to be doing some of that. He promises, “The weigh-in room is going to be a completely different ballgame with me at the steering wheel.” Dolvett Quince and Jennifer Widerstrom are back as  primary trainers as Season 17 begins filming this month.

Bruno Mars headlined the NFL Halftime Show back in 2014 and I still feel robbed that he didn’t do “Gorilla.” Maybe he’ll redeem himself at Super Bowl 50 because the NFL reportedly offered him the headlining spot once again. And he’s also reportedly been asked to “curate” the entire show, meaning there would be several performers all chosen by Bruno.

“Forbes” is out with their annual list of the highest paid actresses on TV, and for the fourth straight year, Sofia Vergara sits at the top. But this year, Sofia has company! She and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting share first place with $28.5 million. They both get paid REAL well for their TV roles, but they also get big bucks for endorsements. Coming in third is Sofia’s “Modern Family” co-star Julie Bowen with $12 million in earnings.

Papa Joe Simpson had to pull out the “Do you know who my daughter is?” card when he and a couple buddies were denied entry to the rooftop bar at the Gansevoort Park Avenue. Sources told Page Six that Joe showed up in “full Justin Bieber attire, complete with one pant leg rolled up and multiple necklaces.” When he was stopped at the door, he reportedly started begging, “But I’m Jessica Simpson’s father!” and pulled out his iPhone to show his Instagram photos with her as proof. Security eventually let him in.

Taylor Swift has leap-frogged over both Kim Kardashian and Beyonce to become the most followed person on Instagram. As of last check, Taylor has 45.7 million followers, with Kim nipping at her heels at 45.6 million. Now sources say Taylor has her eye on knocking off Katy Perry’s record. Katy and Michael Jackson are tied for having the most singles to go number one off of one album — five. Taylor is shooting for seven number ones off her “1989” album.
