Taylor Swift Isn’t Sure She’ll Tour

Kevin O’Leary investigation… Matthew McConaughey is a college professor… Shawn Mendes’ foundation… Lizzo doesn’t like THIS… and Taylor Swift isn’t sure she’ll tour

One of the Sharks from “Shark Tank” was involved in a horrific night time boating accident Saturday night that left two people dead. Kevin O’Leary’s wife Linda was driving their boat when it crashed into another boat on a lake in Ontario. The man in the second boat was killed instantly and a woman who was injured passed away on Tuesday. Kevin and Linda weren’t hurt, but a passenger on their boat was injured. Kevin released a statement to TMZ, saying, “Late Saturday night I was a passenger in a boat that had a tragic collision with another craft that had no navigation lights on and then fled the scene of the accident. I am fully cooperating with authorities. Out of respect for the families who have lost loved ones and to fully support the ongoing investigation, I feel it is inappropriate to make further comments at this time. My thoughts are with all the families affected.” No charges have been filed at this point while police investigate whether Kevin’s version of what happened IS what happened. Linda reportedly was given a DUI test, which she passed.

Matthew McConaughey graduated from the University of Texas at Austin back in 1993, and he’s been a passionate fan of his alma mater ever since. You’ll often find Matthew in the locker room and on the sidelines of UT football games, but now, Matthew is going back to school ….. as a professor! Matthew is now a “professor of practice” teaching the Script to Screen film production class. For the past four years, he’s been a visiting professor, assisting another professor in teaching the class. But now it’s all his! His name is on the syllabus and everything! By the way, Matthew is also UT’s “Minister of Culture.” He’s in charge of creating the ultimate fan experience for the Longhorns’ new basketball arena that opens in 2021.

Shawn Mendes wants to use his influence for good, so he’s launched the Shawn Mendes Foundation. He made the announcement on his Instagram saying, “For a long time, I’ve wanted to find a way to amplify the causes that my fans care deeply about, and to further help them make their voices heard.” Shawn’s foundation has partnered with several organizations that help causes close to his and many of his fans’ hearts, like March For Our Lives, Pencils of Promise, Global Citizen and more. He has a drop-down menu so you can choose which cause you want to throw your money at — anti-bullying, children’s healthcare, education, human rights, mental health, sustainability, youth empowerment, and other. What’s other? You can fill in the blank to help Shawn determine future campaigns. Fans were so excited to check out his website that the whole thing crashed, but it’s back up and running now.

Lizzo is the hottest thing happening in music right now. In a new interview, she said, “When people look at my body and be like, ‘Oh my God, she’s so brave,’ it’s like, ‘No, I’m not. I’m just fine. I’m just me. I’m just sexy. If you saw Anne Hathaway in a bikini on a billboard, you wouldn’t call her brave. I just think there’s a double standard when it comes to women.” Lizzo added, “I don’t like it when people think it’s hard for me to see myself as beautiful. I don’t like it when people are shocked that I’m doing it…So if you want to see somebody who’s beautiful who looks like you, go on the internet and just type something in. Type in blue hair. Type in thick thighs. Type in back fat. You’ll find yourself reflected. That’s what I did to help find the beauty in myself.”

Taylor Swift says she was so busy working on her “Lover” album, making sure the videos were just right and planting those Easter eggs her fans love so much, that she didn’t get around to booking a tour to support it. She said six months before the album release, her management asked her about doing the stadium tour thing again, but she had literally JUST gotten off her “Reputation” tour and said, “I literally cannot do this right now.” She said for one thing, people don’t realize that for tours of that magnitude, you have to reserve stadiums 18 months in advance. But on top of that, she said, “I really can’t feel like my life is just album, tour, album, tour, album, tour, album tour…” Taylor says she’s not sure how it’s going to happen, but she does want to vibe with her fans in a live setting, but something way smaller than a stadium…..more like a living room. But she hasn’t had meetings about that yet.
