Leonardo DiCaprio as the World’s Most Eligible Man… Stars of “Stranger Things” get huge pay raises… Potential “Sex and the Governor’s Mansion”… Taylor Swift surprises a couple getting married… and The breakup of Fifth Harmony

Today is National Proposal Day! There are actually two National Proposal Days — one on the first day of spring and another on the first day of fall. This is the opportunity to let the one you love know that you are VERY open to a marriage proposal. The creator of this holiday is John Michael O’Loughlin and his website is ProposalDay.com. On his site, John encourages those planning a proposal to avoid anything “that might one day make your true love cringe or bring back painful memories when looking back on the day years later on your anniversary. And in honor of this national holiday, John has named Leonardo DiCaprio as the World’s Most Eligible Man. But if Leo should happen to become engaged before the next National Proposal Day in September, President John F. Kennedy’s Grandson, Jack Schlossberg, is first runner-up. And the World’s Most Eligible Woman is Taylor Swift with Emily Watson as first runner-up.

Check out a picture of Jack Schlossberg below.

Netflix is giving the stars of “Stranger Things” huge pay raises for season three. Sources told the Hollywood Reporter that the deals for the child actors are worth roughly 12 times their previous contracts. Each of the youngest kids reportedly earned around $20K per episode for seasons one and two. But for season three, they’re reportedly getting $250K per episode, and they’ll shoot 8 episodes. But Millie Bobby Brown’s deal is being kept hush-hush because her paycheck for playing Eleven will probably make everybody else on the show just a tad jealous. The older teen actors reportedly will now get about $150K per episode, while the adult stars Winona Ryder and David Harbour will pocket up to $350K per episode.

With Miranda tossing her hat in the ring, are we potentially looking at a “Sex and the Governor’s Mansion” situation? Cynthia Nixon — who played Miranda on “Sex and the City” — just announced she’s taking on Andrew Cuomo in the upcoming race for governor of New York. Her campaign page says she’s a “lifelong New Yorker and progressive activist who is running for governor to fight for a better, more equal New York.” Her campaign committee also says that “Cynthia hasn’t been bought and paid for by special interests and won’t be accepting any corporate contributions in this campaign.” Her campaign will be “powered by the people.” Cynthia’s already gotten one endorsement — from Charlotte. Kristen Davis tweeted her support right after the campaign was announced.

Taylor Swift loves surprises — especially when it comes to surprising her fans. Just before Edward and Margaret McNoble got married this past weekend in New York, Taylor sent them a bottle of Dom Perignon with a handwritten note that said, “Rumor has it you might be using my song in your wedding celebration which makes me so happy! Here’s to this amazing day of your continuing love story. Love, Taylor.” The new Mr. and Mrs. McNoble entered their reception to Taylor’s “Welcome to New York” and their first dance was to “Love Story.”

We found out late yesterday morning that Fifth Harmony is going to take a little break, meaning they’re done, of course. No one is more upset about it that Harmonizer Sam Smith who tweeted his disappointment, FIFTH HARMONY!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” After Camila Cabello left the group last year and saw her solo career take off with her single “Havana,” the other girls had to be thinking they could pull the same stunt if they each went solo. Good luck with that because it ain’t that easy! By the way, Fifth Harmony’s last album without Camilla sold only 39K copies.
