Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff are done… Gwyneth Paltrow is engaged… Pink singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl… Selena Gomez’s Instagram cleanse… and The Weeknd is DONE with H&M
After five years, Lena Dunham and Jack Antonoff are done. Lena’s rep says it was “amicable.” WHATEVER. It ain’t amicable or MUTUAL after five years! A source old E! News that the two of them had been growing apart and the breakup finally happened last month. But come on… she was expecting a ring. Back in early November, Lena tweeted, “I thought jack was furtively planning a proposal to me with his sister and he just admitted I actually caught him ‘talking s**t’ about me!” And then she added, “Now I literally can’t sleep cuz I’m laughing too hard and I am also keeping him awake. 5.5 years, no rock and you know what? It’s real nice. Also they were huddled and I heard him say ‘Lena’ and ‘finger’ so obviously it seemed like an engagement ring talk. Anyway I want Cardi B’s ring.”
Gwyneth Paltrow didn’t get Cardi B’s ring, but she definitely got one. We kinda already knew she and Brad Falchuk were engaged, but — recognizing a marketing opportunity when she saw one — she made the official declaration on the front cover of the first-ever issue of “Goop” magazine. Gwyneth consciously uncoupled from Chris Martin in 2014 and started dating Brad right after that. But if there are any hard feelings, they all fake it really well. Gwyneth, Chris and Brad brunch and vacation together like it’s the most natural thing in the world.
On Saturday, Pink said on social media there were “secret” things she was looking forward to that she couldn’t share yet. She said, “I’m really looking forward to 2018. I’m really excited about the Grammy’s. Tour. Some other stuff that’s a secret still and I can’t wait til it’s not a secret. I’m also excited for trump to lose his twitter password and also I’m excited that I have dope hair.” Well, now we know what her secret was… Pink will be singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LII on Feb. 4 in Minneapolis. And remember, Lady Gaga sang the National Anthem for Super Bowl 50 and needed up doing the Halftime Show for 51. So this could be like an audition!
Selena Gomez is shaking things up a bit in 2018. She started with an Instagram cleanse. Over the weekend, Selena started unfollowing people, going from over 300 down to 37. Gone are Demi Lovato, Camila Cabello, the cast of “13 Reasons Why,” the cast of “The Wizards of Waverly Place,” and a few hundred more. She’s still keeping her squad status by following Taylor Swift. She also follows Julia Michaels — they write a lot of music together — Jessica Alba, Francia Raisa — the woman who gave Selena one of her kidneys — and Amy Schumer. She follows Coach because, duh…she’s the face of Coach. She also follows Louis Vuitton Official, her record label, UNICEF, and a handful of Selena Gomez fan accounts. And after rumors that she and her mother aren’t speaking because of Justin Bieber, Selena changed her profile picture to a photo of her mom, Mandy Teefey.
The Weeknd is DONE with H&M. After he saw a photo of a black child modeling a hoodie that said “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle” on the company’s website, he tweeted, “Woke up this morning shocked and embarrassed by this photo. I’m deeply offended and will not be working with H&M anymore.” The hoodie has been pulled from the website and it is no longer for sale. H&M issued their expected apology, adding that they will “thoroughly investigate why this happened to prevent this type of mistake from happening again.” The Weeknd started working with the company last year, modeling in ad campaigns and collaborating on pieces for his XO line. But it sounds like nothing H&M can say or do will bring him back.
