Listen to “Showbiz – Nov 28, 2023” on Spreaker.

You may have overcooked the turkey or gotten into a fight with your brother-in-law, but I’m pretty sure Stephen Colbert’s Thanksgiving was way worse than yours. The Late Show will be off the air all week. Stephen issued a statement explaining why. He said, “…I’m sure you’re thinking, ‘Turkey overdose, Steve? Gravy boat capsize? Actually, I’m recovering from surgery for a ruptured appendix. I’m grateful to my doctors for their care and to Evie and the kids for putting up with me. Going forward, all emails to my appendix will be handled by my pancreas.”

Mark Cuban announced that the next season of Shark Tank will be his last. Mark isn’t an OG Shark. He actually debuted as a guest Shark in Season Two and became a regular in Season 3, which was way back in 2012! Since then, Mark has invested $29M in at least 85 companies. Now he’ll have just one more season to add to his portfolio. Mark said he’s not leaving Shark Tank because he’s unhappy there. He said, “I love it! I love being on it. I love what it represents and how it motivates entrepreneurs around the world.” But Mark’s kids are teenagers now, and he said he wants to spend a couple summers at home with them before they head off on their own. And for that reason…..he’s out.

Jennifer Lopez announced her first studio album in a decade — This is Me…Now — will be released on Feb. 16, 2024. That same day, a movie inspired by the music will be released on Prime Video worldwide. According to the official press release, Jennifer “creates a genre-redefining immersive cinematic experience: an extravagant visual and sonic feast with impressive choreography, star studded cameos, costumes, sets and blockbuster-worthy visuals. Although an astonishing vivid spectacle, the film is ultimately a heartfelt ode to JL’s journey of self-healing and everlasting belief in fairytale endings. Audiences will be captivated and leave hopeful that true love can be more than a dream.” We have to wait till Feb. 16 for all that greatness, but we only have to wait till Jan. 10 to get the first single from her new album, Can’t Get Enough. Meantime, Taylor Swift announced her Eras Tour movie will be available to rent on-demand starting Dec. 13, which just so happens to be her 34th birthday. And, as we guessed, three songs cut from the theatrical release will be added — Wildest Dreams, The Archer and Long Live.

Jamie Lynn Spears pretty much went straight from being eliminated on Dancing With the Stars to Australia, where she’s now appearing on I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here. On the latest episode, Jamie Lynn opened up about her relationship with big sister Britney, who wrote in her memoir that she loves Jamie Lynn, even though she’s a “total b****.” Jamie Lynn admitted, “Me and her throw down. The world’s seen that. I’ve learned to stop talking about it publicly. But you know what? Families fight….we just do it better than most.” But Jamie Lynn said, “I’ve been the one person in her life — and she can say this — I’ve never taken anything from her, you know? I’ve been the one person in her life who’s always said, ‘I just want to be your sister.’” Britney may see things a bit differently. She wrote that Jamie Lynn should’ve taken her side when it came to being forced into a conservatorship. Britney said, “As I was fighting the conservatorship and receiving a lot of press attention, she was writing a book capitalizing on it. She rushed out salacious stories about me, many of them hurtful and outrageous.” However, Jamie Lynn said she and Britney spoke before she starting filming I’m a Celebrity, and that the two of them are good.

After her second DUI arrest in just under two years, Tiffany Haddish promises to get help. Even though she was cracking jokes about it right after her second arrest Friday morning, she told Entertainment Tonight over the weekend, “I’m going to get some help so I can learn balance and boundaries. This will never happen again.” Tiffany didn’t explain how she plans to get help, but those close to her are very concerned about the situation. Sources told Page Six that Tiffany tends to drink way more around the holidays, perhaps because she’s lonely. One source said, “We love the fact that she can move on from this and turn this life situation into part of her comedy routine, but we are concerned.” The source said Tiffany went from being broke, homeless and living in her car to having the success she always dreamed of, but “new demons are coming to the surface in the form of alcohol.”
