Weekend box office news… Alfonso Ribeiro filling in for Tom Bergeron… Madonna stopped by Canadian border… Scott Disick has a new 18-year-old girlfriend… and Tom Cruise absent from daughter’s secret wedding

Matt Damon’s “The Martian” debuted in first place at the box office this weekend with $55 million in ticket sales. That makes this the second-highest October opening of all time. First place belongs to another space-themed movie, “Gravity.” Last week’s number one movie, “Hotel Transylvania 2” dropped to second with $33 million. And coming in third was the new “Sicario” with $12 million.

Tom Bergeron won’t be hosting “Dancing With the Stars” tonight. Filling in for him will be Season 19 champion Alfonso Ribeiro, who is also taking over for Tom hosting “America’s Funniest Home Videos.” Tom tweeted last night, “I’ll miss 2morrow’s #dwts to be at my Dad’s bedside. He’s given me a lifetime of support. Time to return the favor.”

Madonna is furious after her five tour buses were stopped at the Canadian border and customs agents found some of the dancers had been smoking pot. That led to the buses being torn apart by customs agents, which delayed them for hours. A source says the delay threw them so far off schedule that it ended up costing tens of thousands of dollars in extra expenses. It’s not known yet if the pot-smoking dancers face any criminal charges, but that will be nothing compared to the wrath of Madonna.

Scott Disick is acting like pretty much any man would after leaving his pseudo-wife and three small children — he’s flaunting his new 18-year-old girlfriend! That would be 14 years younger than Scott and 18 years younger than Kourtney Kardashian. Yes, the new girlfriend is exactly half Kourtney’s age. And her name is Lindsay Vrckovnik. She just graduated this past May and moved from Canada down to NYC to be a model. Scott and Lindsay spent some time together in NY before jetting down to Miami to get to know each other better.

We’re just finding out that Tom Cruise’s daughter Isabella got married British IT consultant Max Parker in a secret ceremony last month at The Dorchester in London. RadarOnline.com is reporting that none of Isabella’s family was there — not her dad, her mom Nicole Kidman, nor her brother, Connor. Isabella and Max invited just a handful of their closest friends. Some are speculating that Tom and Connor were no-shows because Isabella married a non-Scientologist. Or maybe she just decided to elope! But it’s also interesting to note that Tom didn’t attend his stepfather’s funeral in August. Reportedly, after Tom joined the Church of Scientology, he had a falling out with the man who raised him and they never repaired the relationship.
