David Copperfield is going to share one of his illusions… Dancing With the Stars featuring athletes… Gwen Stefani’s show in Vegas… Coachella is getting a deal on Cardi B… and Tristan Thompson caught cheating on Khloe Kardashian
You may THINK you want to know how magic tricks are done, but you really don’t. It spoils everything! But if a lawyer has his way in court, David Copperfield is going to have to spill the beans on one of his illusions. About 5 years ago, this man named Gavin Cox was celebrating his birthday in Vegas and went to see David’s show. Lucky for him — or so he thought at the time! — Gavin was plucked from the audience to take part in David’s disappearing act. But Gavin claims that when David’s assistants were hustling him through a dark, secret passageway, he tripped and fell on some debris and hit his head on the floor. He says he suffered a traumatic brain injury and also had to have two fusion surgeries on his neck and shoulder surgery. OF COURSE he’s suing. But Gavin’s attorney wants to put David on the stand and have him explain exactly how his illusion is done. Opening statements are expected to take place today.
Starting April 30, Dancing With the Stars is doing an abbreviated season featuring athletes. They’ll announce the dancers on Good Morning America this Friday. Some names have already been leaked, like Tonya Harding and Adam Rippon. TMZ says Johnny Manziel was THIS CLOSE to signing on, but then producers decided at the last minute that he was too controversial. This could’ve helped Johnny’s public image, which has been destroyed by his partying and violent behavior. Johnny is now out of the NFL, but he’s currently playing in the Spring League, trying to get his career back on track.
Gwen Stefani decided she’d like a little piece of that Vegas money and she’s signed on for a residency at Planet Hollywood this summer. Her “Just a Girl” show debuts on June 27 and there are 25 dates on the calendar. Depending on how well it goes, she could add more. And according to People, a dollar from every ticket sold will be donated to the Cure 4 the Kids Foundation which helps children with life-threatening illnesses in and around Nevada.
Cardi B just says what she’s thinking, which is one of the things everybody loves about her. So she was doing an interview yesterday and revealed that she’ll get $70K per day to perform at Coachella, which means $70K each weekend. Cardi is actually losing money on the deal because she’s reportedly spending $300K on her stage set, but she sees that as an investment in her career. And at $70K, Coachella is getting a deal! Billboard says because they booked her over six months ago, she wasn’t quite as big of a draw as she is now. Plus, Cardi admits she didn’t realize Coachella was that big of a deal when she booked it anyway.
Khloe Kardashian is giving birth any minute, so the timing of this scandal couldn’t be worse. Basically, her baby daddy Tristan Thompson is a ho. This has been going on since Khloe was about 3 months pregnant — and probably longer than that, but the only proof is from a nightclub video showing Tristan making out with TWO women. Then this past weekend, Tristan is seen walking into the Four Seasons in NYC with this Instagram model who sources say is Bronx Instagram model Lani Blair. And since she’s hungry for fame and fortune, she posts and then deletes the video of them hooking up in his hotel room. Because Khloe is so close to giving birth, she’s staying in Cleveland to deliver their daughter. Just yesterday, Khloe posted a picture of her kissing Tristan while his arms are wrapped around her baby belly. She captioned it, “We are ready whenever you are little mama.”
