Tyga reached a settlement… Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam’s new shows… Johnny Depp and Amber Heard update… Justin Bieber hanging out with Lionel Richie’s daughter… and Tyrese Gibson stands by Fast and Furious star Vin Diesel
Tyga finally took care of business. An arrest warrant was issued for his arrest after he didn’t show up for court to explain why he hadn’t paid a $480K judgment to his former landlord. Four years ago, Tyga moved into a house in Malibu and agreed to pay $16K/month in rent. But the landlord said three months after he moved in, Tyga just stopped paying. And then he abandoned the house, which the landlord says was left in shambles. But Tyga’s attorneys told E! News that they have reached a settlement with the former landlord. They just won’t tell us what amount Tyga agreed to pay.
Jay Pharoah and Taran Killam were both released from Saturday Night Live with a year left on their seven year contracts. Now we know why. Maybe. Both men have been cast as the lead roles in their own pilots for Showtime, which are set to debut next year. Jay is playing the lead in White Famous — a comedy about a young black comedian “whose star is rising, forcing him to navigate the treacherous waters of maintaining his credibility as he begins to cross-over towards becoming ‘white famous.’” The show is based on an idea Jamie Foxx had and he’ll play a recurring character on the show. Meantime, Taran will star in Mating — a comedy about a divorced guy who married young and now finds himself unprepared for the current world of dating. Showtime was willing to work around their SNL shooting schedules, but now that won’t be a problem…
Amber Heard has been ordered to appear in an LA courtroom this morning at 10am, but at last check, she was holed up in London. Unless she sneaked on to a plane, this is not a good look for her. Amber is scheduled to be deposed in her domestic violence/divorce case against Johnny Depp. If she no-shows, Johnny’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, will ask the judge to prohibit her from testifying in next week’s trial. The judge could also throw out her domestic violence case altogether.
Justin Bieber has two shows in Japan this weekend, so he invited what may be his new girlfriend, Sofia Richie, along for the ride. If you’re not familiar, Sofia is Lionel Richie’s daughter and she’s only 17. But hey! She turns 18 in less than two weeks! This kinda came out of nowhere, didn’t it? They’ve spent every day together this past week. But just last week, Justin was in Hawaii hanging out — and I DO mean “hanging out” — with swimsuit designer/model Sahara Ray and we thought she was his new girlfriend.
Just when we thought everybody was Team Dwayne, a lone voice is standing up for Team Vin. Vin Diesel’s “Fast 8” costar Tyrese posted a picture of him and Vin on Instagram and captioned it, “…I’m so f****** proud to call you my family and my brother…. I’ve always said that if ONLY people knew how hard you work to protect this franchise and characters, minds would be blown……if no one else will jump out there and stand up I will – You’re my brother for life let’s keep it positive and keep rockin this thing…… My proudest post…… #FastFamily #F8#PaulWeStillMissYouEveryday.”
