Nominations for the Golden Globes were announced yesterday and we only have to wait until Jan. 7 to find out who wins. HBO’s Succession and Barbie both lead with 9 nominations. Barbie is up for Best Motion Picture — Musical or Comedy; Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling got acting nominations; Greta Gerwig got nominations for directing and the screenplay; and, it got three Best Original Song nominations for Dance the Night, I’m Just Ken and What Was I Made For? Oppenheimer follows with 8 nominations. There are 27 categories — way too many to list here! So let’s talk about some snubs. A lot of people were shocked that Amazon Prime’s Swarm came up empty handed. From the mind of Donald Glover, this satirical comedy horror thriller follows a young woman whose obsession with a pop star takes a dark turn. Also earning a big fat NOTHING were Ferrari, starring Adam Driver and Penelope Cruz; Napoleon, starring Joaquin Phoenix; and Ava DuVernay’s Origin, whose star, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, has a lot of Oscar buzz.

The time has come. Jin, J-Hope and Suga have already enlisted in the South Korean military, and now it’s time for the remaining members of BTS — V, RM, Jimmy and Jung Kook — to fulfill their duties. South Korea requires all able-bodied men to serve 18 months in the military by the time they turn 28. They sometimes make exceptions for athletes and classical artists, but BTS didn’t meet their criteria. In a farewell message to his fans in the BTS ARMY, V posted some selfies, including one with his newly shaved head. He posted in Korean, “I think I will miss you so much. Actually, I’m really sad that I can’t make happy memories with my ARMY for the time being, so it’s okay if I take one out, but it’s the hardest not to see the ARMY. I’II be back after 18 months of being healthy, so take care of your ARMY and if you’re looking for something to be happy about every day, cheers! I’m here! I’ll be back. And within 18 months, I’ve prepared a lot of things. Please look forward to it.”

Kanye West premiered a few cuts at a Jamaican restaurant in Miami the night before, but then took over the Wynwood Marketplace the next night for the official premiere of his Vultures album with Ty Dolla Sign. According to Variety, general admission tickets went for $200, with VIP going for $600 and tables at $10K a pop. Things were supposed to start at midnight, but about 2:30am, Kanye and Ty finally took the stage as stagehands struggled to connect Kanye’s phone to the sound system. You could’ve watched it all in real time on YouTube, but it kept glitching. Guest artists who appear on Vultures were there to celebrate, including Chris Brown, Offset, Kodak Black and North West! Yes, Kanye’s 10-year-old daughter has a verse on the song Slide. Also there to support their daddy were 8-year-old Saint and 5-year-old Chicago, who was carried by Kanye’s fully-clothed wife Bianca Censori.

Taylor Swift celebrates her 34th birthday tomorrow, and Travis Kelce has something special up his sleeve. According to Us Weekly, Travis is pulling out all the stops for his girlfriend of 5 months, and “money is no object.” And since he wants all of her close friends to be there, Travis is throwing Taylor a party in NYC. That’s also convenient for Travis because the Chiefs play the Patriots on Sunday, just a one-hour flight on Taylor’s private jet away.

Tom Sandoval was the villain of Season 10, but will it be Tom Schwartz’s turn in Season 11? The trailer for the upcoming season of Vanderpump Rules has dropped, and who knew there was more scandal bubbling beneath the surface! In the preview, Schwartz reveals to Lala that while he was married to Katie he made out with Scheana Shay during a drunken night in Las Vegas! After seeing that bombshell, Everything Iconic podcast host Danny Pellegrino jumped on Instagram, asking, “Scheana!! you made out with Schwartz and we’re just now finding out about it???! How could you do this to us. Question mark.” (obvious talk-to-text fail…we’ve all been there…) Scheana responded, “Things that were supposed to go to the grave BUT it’s not exactly what you think…Stay tuned!” Danny followed up with, “Can you at least confirm or deny that it happened at The Golden Nugget???” Season 11 of Vanderpump Rules premieres Tuesday, Jan. 30 on Bravo.
