Vanessa Lachey Defends Herself

The Masked Singer SPOILER… Machine Gun Kelly & Demi Lovato rumors… Nicki Minaj goes after Meek Mill… Gayle King’s interview… and Vanessa Lachey defends herself

SPOILER ALERT: We’ve already had the second elimination on Season 3 of “The Masked Singer.” After the big premiere on Sunday night that sent Lil Wayne/The Robot home, last night we learned the identity of the Llama. He fooled EVERYBODY. As the judges guessed, the Llama was NOT Johnny Knoxville or Joel McHale. He was NOT Zach Galifianakis or Woody Harrelson. The Llama’s true identity was…….“The Price is Right” host Drew Carey!

Are Demi Lovato and Machine Gun Kelly a thing? They left Soho House West Hollywood together at 2am Wednesday. Demi got into a waiting SUV and MGK hopped into his Aston Martin convertible, but a source told Page Six that he definitely followed Demi back to her condo. This isn’t the first time we thought these two might be up to a little something-something. Back in 2017, there were seen hanging out at other clubs together. But just last month, we also thought MGK and Noah Cyrus might be a new thing after hitting up all the Grammys afterparties together.

A few weeks ago, Nicki Minaj and her new husband, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty, got into a screaming match with her ex-boyfriend Meek Mill at a store in LA. Things were quiet until yesterday when Meek liked a meme that took a shot a Nicki’s husband and it all went downhill from there. She posted a bunch of pictures of Meek with a clown emoji over his face, then accused him of beating his sister and of beating her…of being scared of men and pleasuring Drake in a very specific way…Meek fired back by accusing Nicki of knowing about her brother’s crimes against children, which is why he says he left Nicki. Meek wanted to clear one thing in particular up. He tweeted, “For clarification I don’t hit women and I won’t let my interviews be filled with question about her or any situation to do with her when I come out to do press for my new album! No devils trick.” Nicki responded by defending her brother, claiming there’s audio of the victim’s mother asking her for $20 million to make it all go away. Her brother, by the way, was just sentenced to 25 years to life for the rape of an 11-year-old girl in his home.

Gayle King woke up to a firestorm. CBS posted a clip teasing Gayle’s interview with former WBNA star Lisa Leslie. During the interview, Gayle brought up Lisa’s friendship with Kobe Bryant and the accusations that he had raped a woman almost 20 years ago. After seeing all the reactions, Gayle posted a video before she left for work this morning, saying “I know that if I had only seen the clip that you saw, I’d be extremely angry with me, too. I am mortified. I am embarrassed and I am very angry. Unbeknownst to me, my network put up a clip from a very wide-ranging interview — totally taken out of context — and when you see it that way, it’s very jarring.” Gayle said she was advised not to say anything because “it’ll be over in a couple of days,” but that’s not how she operates. Gayle said, “I felt really good about the interview… so, for the network to take the most salacious part when taken out of context, and put it up online for people who didn’t see the whole interview, is very upsetting to me and that’s something I’m going to have to deal with with them. There will be a very intense discussion about that.”

Vanessa Lachey got a lot of backlash for her response to Hoda Kotb commending her and her husband Nick for sending Jessica Simpson a gift after the birth of her children. Vanessa wasn’t about to let that go, saying it wasn’t them who sent the gift, but “thank you, whoever sent it from us!” She didn’t let it go at that, repeating again that they hadn’t sent any gifts to Jessica and that she didn’t even know her address. The internet attacked Vanessa for creating an awkward situation and for being super shady. One asked, “Why even deny it? What did that accomplish exactly?” Vanessa defended herself, saying she didn’t want to take credit for something they didn’t do. And when she was accused of being “classless” for correcting Hoda, Vanessa tweeted, “Totally hear you. But also, you make sure you do your research and state facts and ask appropriate questions as the host… don’t you think. The statement wasn’t true, so I was simply clearing that up. But definitely a beautiful sentiment if it was.”
