They can’t stand him as our president but they are LOVING him for ratings. Saturday Night Live is seeing their highest ratings in 22 years, thanks in large part to Alec Baldwin’s impersonation of President Trump and now Melissa McCarthy’s impression of White House press secretary Sean Spicer. Because things are going so well at SNL, NBC reportedly is thinking about spinning off the Weekend Update segment into its own 30-minute, Thursday-night series to launch in the fall.
Tamron Hall is out at NBC to make room for Megyn Kelly. Basically, it sounds like she quit before they could either demote her or fire her. But a source for Page Six spotted Tamron having a business lunch with a network executive who was encouraging her to throw her hat in the ring to be Kelly Ripa’s next co-host!
Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie was involved in a scary ATV accident on Sunday that left her submerged in water for several minutes. But there is good news! Maddie reportedly has regained consciousness! According to a statement from the sheriff’s office, Maddie recognizes her family and was able to talk after doctors removed her ventilator. The statement also says it appears that Maddie hasn’t suffered any neurological damage from the accident.
We watched Mariah Carey’s engagement fall apart and her relationship with her backup dancer blossom on her E! series. But is her relationship with Bryan Tanaka all that we have been led to believe? According to RadarOnline.com, Mariah’s manager asked Bryan to be a part of the show and fawn all over Mariah. Of course he was happy to do that in exchange for the free publicity and the career boost. However! A source says now that Bryan’s had a little taste of fame, he wants to get paid more for his services. Bryan reportedly thinks he should get a raise of “between $15K and $25K per episode, with bonuses for media appearances and interviews.” The source said Mariah wants fans to see how happy she is with a hot dancer falling all over her, but with Bryan making all these demands, it’s causing tension between the two of them.
RadarOnline.com is reporting that Taylor Kinney was in Houston for Lady Gaga’s Super Bowl half-time performance! He reportedly stayed with her for the entire week at the private mansion she rented and, reportedly, several fans swear they spotted them at the game. A source says Taylor and Gaga have actually been seeing each other quietly for a while now and that it’s just a matter of time before they go public that they’re back together!
