Will Maroon 5 Play The Super Bowl Halftime Show?

LeBron James’ “Space Jam” update… BTS on TV… Demi Lovato seen with Wilmer Valderrama… Julie Chen Moonves may have her last appearance… and Will Maroon 5 play the Super Bowl Halftime Show?

LeBron James has locked down Ryan Coogler to produce his follow-up to Michael Jordan’s “Space Jam.” This is Ryan’s first project since directing “Black Panther.” This won’t be LeBron’s first movie role — he played himself in “Trainwreck” three years ago. But this will be his first starring role. Michael Jordan’s “Space Jam” was released in 1996 and earned about $250 million, making it the highest-grossing basketball movie of all time. There’s no telling how many records are going to be broken with LeBron’s version! He told The Hollywood Reporter, “The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie…I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they just don’t give up on their dreams.”

See if your mama will let you be late to school next week because you can sit up late to watch BTS on “The Tonight Show” Tuesday night, and then they’ll be on “Good Morning America” the next day.

It’s been almost 2 months since we almost lost Demi Lovato to a drug overdose, but she seems to be doing really well in rehab. TMZ is reporting that she transferred from a rehab center on the East Coast to another facility, but they won’t say where. They do say, though, that Demi’s ex-boyfriend Wilmer Valderrama has flown in several times to be wither her. In fact, people in town told TMZ they’ve seen Demi and Wilmer at a local Starbucks and they’re definitely acting like a couple.

Julie Chen Moonves — as she’d now like to be called — will be wrapping up this season of “Big Brother” Monday night. RadarOnline.com is reporting that this will be her last appearance on the show. One source says Julie’s contract expires in two weeks and that’s it. The source says, “There is no offer and she didn’t request a meeting to have one. She’s done when it ends in a couple weeks.”

According to Billboard, Maroon 5 is going to play the Super Bowl Halftime Show in Atlanta on February 3, and that Cardi B and Travis Scott may be their special guests. Twitter is not happy about this. Twitterers want to remind the NFL that Atlanta is home to a TON of hip-hop artists and that maybe they should’ve been considered as headliners instead of one of the whitest bands on the planet. Of course, the NFL won’t confirm this story because it’s more fun to keep us all guessing. Two years ago, Adam Levine says the band’s dream was to play the Super Bowl and that they’ve been on the short list of acts the NFL considers for years. Now it looks like their time has finally come.
