Box office news… ‘LIGHTYEAR’ film update… Drake splurges on Richard Mille watch… Kim Kardashian holding hands with Pete Davidson… and Zayn Malik pleads no contest to harassing Yolanda

There was a lot going on over the weekend which kept people from going to the movies. But those who did go made “Dune” the number one movie for a second week, earning another $15.5M. In the spirit of Halloween, “Halloween Kills” came in second with $8.5M. But two other horror movies opened over the weekend and didn’t do so hot. “Last Night in Soho” and “Antlers” are still battling it out for sixth place, with both earning around $4.2M. But in between second and sixth, “No Time to Die” was third with $7.8M, followed by “My Hero Academia: World Heroes’ Mission” with $6.4M and “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” with $5.7M.

Last week, the trailer for Disney Pixar’s new movie “Lightyear” dropped with Chris Evans as the voice of Buzz Lightyear and not Tim Allen. A lot of people assumed Tim was kicked to the curb because of his conservative political views, but sources told TMZ that’s not the case. They said Disney has no issue with Tim whatsoever, political or otherwise. The new movie is about the real astronaut the toy Buzz is based on, and to have the same voice wouldn’t make sense. In fact, Disney still wants Tim to voice any toy Buzz appearances in future “Toy Story” projects.

Drake turned 35 last Sunday and that weekend, he threw himself a huge Cartel-themed birthday party on a gigantic sound stage. And then Drake bought himself a special birthday gift — an ultra-rare Richard Mille watch that he’s wanted ever since it was released in 2019. The watch is encased in sapphire crystal and runs on the incredibly complex tourbillon movement — which is a really big deal to watch people. Tourbillon is the French word for “whirlwind” or “to whirl around.” Basically, you can see all the mechanisms inside the watch whirling around. When the watch was released two years ago, it was worth $2.8M. Drake dropped $5.5M for his.

A couple weeks ago, Kim Kardashian hosted “Saturday Night Live” and in a skit, Kim, who was playing Disney princess Jasmine, kissed Pete Davidson, who was playing Aladdin. Fast forward to this past Friday when Kim and Pete went to Knott’s Scary Farm in Buena Vista, California, and were holding hands on a roller coaster. Of course, everyone is shipping these two together, but a source told “People” that Pete and Kim are just friends. The source said, “They hang in the same circles so they will be together from time to time. It’s just friends hanging out.” In fact, Kim and Pete were there with her sister Kourtney and her new fiancé Travis Barker. Pete and Travis know each other through Machine Gun Kelly.

Last week, we told you something happened between Zayn Malik and Gigi Hadid’s mom, Yolanda, which was so bad it led Zayn and Gigi to break up. It turns out Zayn pleaded no contest to 4 criminal offenses of harassment, and has to complete an anger management class and a domestic violence program. He also has to stay away from Yolanda and the security guard who was there at the time of this alleged incident. We’re learning more details about what allegedly happened that led to this ugly incident on Sept. 29. According to court documents, Gigi was away working during Paris Fashion Week while Zayn stayed behind at their home in Pennsylvania to keep their 1-year-old daughter Khai. A source told HollywoodLife that Yolanda came over to take care of her grandbaby, and “Zayn took this as a hit to his ego because he knows he’s fully capable of caring for his own child. Yolanda meant no harm, it’s just that she loves her granddaughter with all her heart and will step in at any time to ensure she’s cared for. It wasn’t a diss at Zayn, it’s more just in her nature to step in when it comes to those things. Zayn saw it as her crossing a boundary and that’s what erupted into their argument.” Zayn called his baby’s grandmama things he can never take back, and then reportedly got on the phone with Gigi, screaming at her to basically stand up for him. At some point, Zayn allegedly shoved Yolanda into a dresser, which he denies, and then tried to fight a security guard. Despite this ugliness, a source told “Us Weekly” that “Gigi stands by Zayn’s ability to coparent well.” But they are definitely done as a couple.
