Did Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o know his girlfriend was fake?

A new reality show for Jessica Simpson…a multi-million dollar bidding war over Britney Spears…and did Manti Te’o know his girlfriend was a fake all along?

We’ve lost Arnold and Kimberly, and now we’ve lost Mr. Drummond. Back in the 80s, Conrad Bain played the very rich and very white Phillip Drummond on “Diff’rent Strokes.” He adopted two poor black brothers named Arnold and Willis and hilarity ensued. Dana Plato played Kimberly Drummond. She died of a drug overdose back in 1999. Gary Coleman played Arnold. He passed away almost 3 years ago. Now we’ve lost Mr. Drummond. Now all we have left are Willis and Mrs. Garrett…

Jessica Simpson is getting her own sitcom, which will be loosely based on her crazy life. Her dad, Joe Simpson, is executive producer. But the thing is, Jessica isn’t really talking to Papa Joe right now. She’s still mad that he left her mom, Tina, and then there’s still that gay rumor dogging him. A source says that as it stands now — just like when Jessica filmed her parts on “Fashion Star” — when Jessica is on set, Joe won’t be and vice versa. If the show is based loosely on Jessica’s real life, I wonder if her character’s dad on the show will be gay?

TMZ is reporting a bidding war for Britney Spears. Apparently there are three different Vegas hotels that want to host her show. There was a story out that she’d already signed a 2-year, $200 million deal with Caesars, but TMZ says no deal has been signed. Two other properties have shown interest and now it’s all about who’s willing to pay top dollar. Now, Celine Dion was paid $100 million a year, and a source says Britney should be able to top that.

“American Idol” is back for season 12 with three brand new judges. Joining Randy Jackson on the panel are Mariah Carey, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban. Right out the gate, the cat fight was on between Nicki and Mariah. When the first contestant told Mariah that “All I Want for Christmas Is You” is the best modern day Christmas song, Mariah started gushing about herself. That’s when Nicki started calling her the “B” word over and over. Mariah shot back, “If she called me something that begins with a ‘B’ and ends in an ‘-itch,’ I rebuke it.”

Was he a “Catfish” victim or did he make the whole thing up for sympathy points? DeadSpin.com says Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o made up a fake girlfriend who died from leukemia, hoping it would help him generate some publicity and snag that Heisman Trophy. But Notre Dame has Manti’s back, saying he was the victim of a cruel hoax. Manti finally released a statement, saying: “This is incredibly embarrassing to talk about, but over an extended period of time, I developed an emotional relationship with a woman I met online. We maintained what I thought to be an authentic relationship by communicating frequently online and on the phone, and I grew to care deeply about her. To realize that I was the victim of what was apparently someone’s sick joke and constant lies was, and is, painful and humiliating. It further pains me that the grief I felt and the sympathies expressed to me at the time of my grandmother’s death in September were in any way deepened by what I believed to be another significant loss in my life. ”
“I am enormously grateful for the support of my family, friends and Notre Dame fans throughout this year. To think that I shared with them my happiness about my relationship and details that I thought to be true about her just makes me sick. I hope that people can understand how trying and confusing this whole experience has been.”
