If everyone just uses reverse psychology and stops asking Rihanna when she’s putting out her 9th studio album, maybe she’ll finally do it. It’s been almost 10 years since her last one, but in an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Rihanna says it’s not for a lack of trying, her attempts to create new music just weren’t resonating with her. They weren’t “matching her growth” or “evolution.” Because of that, Rihana couldn’t stand by the songs, much less perform them night after night on a year-long tour. She did say that what she’s recording now “feels right,” but when asked if it will be reggae, Rihanna said, “Way off! There’s no genre now. That’s why I waited.” She also said it isn’t commercial or radio-friendly, so we have no idea what that will sound like….or when she’ll finally feel comfortable enough to release an album full of it.

Machine Gun Kelly has been going through a lot lately. “For spiritual purposes only,” he got a huge blackout tattoo covering most of his arms and shoulders. And now, he’s updated all his social media and streaming platforms to his new name, MGK. He was born Colson Baker, but adopted the stage name Machine Gun Kelly, which a lot of people said glorified gun violence. Perhaps his spiritual journey has him seeing that in a new light, so henceforth we shall refer to him as MGK. Over the past year, MGK has tiptoed into the country music space, releasing a cover of Zach Bryan’s Sun to Me and the song Lonely Road with Jelly Roll. Add to that, MGK recently posted a photo with his longtime buddy Post Malone, captioning it, “I think this the year we give the fans one.” There’s also speculation of an MGK collaboration with Lana Del Rey, who is also exploring a Nashville sound.

A Los Angeles judge has ruled that Jay-Z’s defamation lawsuit against attorney Tony Buzbee can proceed to trial, citing evidence that Buzbee may have acted recklessly and with malice. The lawsuit stems from Buzbee naming Jay-Z as a defendant in a now-dismissed sexual assault case, which also accused Diddy as being the primary assailant. Jay-Z’s legal team presented evidence that Buzbee referred to his client as a “sexual assault survivor” in a social media post and then liked a post speculating that Jay-Z was involved. The judge said Jay-Z had to prove “actual malice” due to his celebrity status in order for the case to proceed. Apparently, Buzbee’s social media activity did the trick. The judge also criticized Buzbee for failing to conduct a thorough investigation before filing the lawsuit, despite previously claiming he would not name names without proper vetting.

Alex Cooper’s Unwell Network has officially dropped Alix Earle’s Hot Mess podcast, sparking speculation of a feud between the two influencers. According to Variety, Unwell gave up the rights to the show, leaving Alix Earle free to explore new opportunities. Neither Alex nor Alix has addressed this publicly, but there have been signs of a rift brewing for a while. Back on a December episode of Hot Mess, Alix’s daddy, TJ Earle, hinted there was tension between the two women, saying he recently had to step in and handle a difficult business conversation on his daughter’s behalf. TJ suggested that someone wasn’t recognizing his daughter’s full potential and he wasn’t happy about it. Many believe he was referring to a dispute his daughter was having with Alex Cooper over money. Fans also noticed that Unwell stopped promoting Hot Mess on social media, and that Alex Cooper has been heavily pushing Hallie Batchelder’s podcast, Extra Dirty, instead. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy decided to get in on the drama with a cryptic Instagram post. He shared a screenshot of a 22-minute phone call with a contact labeled “Alixearlenew” set to Circle of Life. He captioned it, “You can stop tagging me. I know what needs to be done” That mirrors a post Alex Cooper made after Grace O’Malley left Barstool for Unwell. A few hours later, Dave clarified that he hadn’t actually spoken to Alix Earle. He was just trying to be funny.
