Here’s a Flashback Friday commercial from the ’70s of a disgusting-looking dessert called a Fruit Float. It’s a syrupy liquid in a can that you pour into a bowl, add some milk, and stir. And it comes in five delicious flavors!
Check out all the 1973 commercials below:
- Libby’s Fruit Float (can you say that five times fast?)
- Chef Boyardee Spaghetti Sauce (It’s pronounced Boy AR dee)
- Allerest allergy medicine for children (Poor Howard, dealing with that nagging mother!)
- Max-Pax filtered coffee (Tastes better, not bitter!)
- Pizza Hut restaurant with Rich Little and his W.C. Fields impersonation
- Bic Banana (Mel Brooks is so funny in this! Don’t write with fruit, you’ll get a very wet letter!)
- Crayola Crayons (I always got the 64-crayon box with the built-in sharpener!)
- Nair hair remover (before women were bragging about the ‘short-shorts!’)
- Trident sugarless gum (4 out of 5 dentists surveyed recommend sugarless gum for their patients who chew gum! Who’s that 5th dentist who doesn’t like Trident?)
- Listerine throat louzengers
- K2R spot remover (That guy in the fancy suit should sue the heck out of that clumsy mechanic!)
- 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood (check out that blue interior!)
