Next Saturday, March 29, Billboard is hosting a huge Women in Music celebration, hosted by Laverne Cox and featuring performances by artists like Doechii, Gracie Abrams, Glorilla, Erykah Badu, Megan Moroney and Meghan Trainor, among others. Ahead of that, Billboard has ranked the top-performing female artists of the first 25 years of this century, listing the top 100 on their website. The list includes solo artists, all-women groups and groups featuring female lead singers. As expected, Taylor Swift came in at No. 1. And while she hasn’t released an album since 2016’s Anti, Rihanna came in second, followed by Beyoncé, Adele, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Pink, Ariana Grande, Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys. Again, this is based on artist performance, not opinion, but that doesn’t stop people from being ticked off about it. For instance, Britney Spears ranked No. 14, to which one person commented, “Britney has influenced most of the artists in the top 10. How is she not in the top 5? Katy Perry is number 5? seriously…?” As far as Beyoncé ranking No. 3, someone said, “I hate when people downplay the work she put in! She been working since day 1. Why are people being ignorant on purpose!” But then someone reminded this member of the Beyhive, “Seeing that this list is based on STREAMS and numbers and not actual impact and quality… I’m not tripping she was not number 1… She stopped making music for the charts years ago.”
On his We Playin’ Spades podcast this week, Nick Cannon says he hopes to have more kids. In case you stopped counting, Nick has 12 kids with five different women — twins Moroccan and Monroe with Mariah Carey; Golden Sagon, Powerful Queen and Rise Messiah with Brittany Bell; Zion Mixolydian, Zillion Heir and Beautiful Zeppelin with Abby De La Rosa; Legendary Love with Bre Tiesi; Onyx Ice with LaNisha Cole; and Halo Marie with Alyssa Scott. He and Alyssa also had a son named Zen in 2021, but he died from brain cancer just five months after he was born. When a couple of his guests brought up the fact they they’ve had vasectomies, Nick admitted it would be the responsible thing to do, but he’s not down with that. When his co-host Courtney Bee asked if Nick wants to have more children with one of his current stable of mothers or if he wants to bring a new woman into the fold, Nick said, “I leave it to the Lord.”
We all fell in love with Jessica Simpson in the early 2000s when she and her new husband Nick Lachey starred in their reality show, Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica. All these years later, fans are hoping she’s about to bring us more of that lovable wackiness in a new reality series, or — at the very least — a documentary. While her marriage to Eric Johnson is falling apart, Jessica is relaunching her music carer. Her country album, Nashville Canyon, Part 1, is out tomorrow. In a recent post promoting it, fans noticed a cameraman was following Jessica around. Turns out, this guy is a video producer and documentary film maker named Schuyler Howie.
A new 90-minute documentary called He Said, She Said: Blake Lively vs. Justin Baldoni will premiere in the UK on Monday night. A week later, the 60-minute version will stream on Max and Discovery+ starting March 31. The doc explores Blake’s allegations of Justin’s sexual misconduct on the set of It Ends With Us and then launching a smear campaign to destroy her. It will also dive into Justin’s $400M countersuit against Blake, Ryan Reynolds and their PR rep, examining the evidence on both sides, as well as the social media response to all the drama.
Sources have told The US Sun that Timothée Chalamet bought a $300K diamond encrusted ring for Kylie Jenner and plans to propose soon. And now The US Sun claims one of Timmy’s family members reached out to them on the condition of anonymity to say that several of Timmy’s family members don’t think these two should make it down the aisle. The source said, “Many of us don’t understand how they connect and click.” The source says Kylie’s need for attention has caused tension in the family, and they only believe she’s with him so she can remain in the spotlight. Another source they claim is a childhood friend of Timmy said a lot of people in his inner circle aren’t happy about the relationship. In fact, the friend says they’ve encouraged him to dump her and move on!
