Today’s overachieving teacher is Vicki Flatt and she is planning on using the money to purchase costumes! Read what she wrote about her class below.
“The short answer… COSTUMES! We have a research project that our first graders work on during the spring. They choose an animal, research the animal, and then the write a speech as if they are their chosen animal. We practice, practice, and practice until they have their speech memorized. Then they dress up as that animal and on the night of the Living Zoo, family and friends come to school, press the student’s buttons where they come to life and say their speech. It is amazing! Right now, I am making or buying many of the costumes or asking for donations of Halloween costumes etc.”
