As part of our Salute to Veterans, today we honor Jodie Beekman. She volunteered for deployment to Iraq but unfortunately continues to deal with PTSD! Hear how she reacts to a surprise vacation, thanks to VISIT FLORIDA!

“Jodie went into the military as a single mom of a 3 year old to make a better life for her and her daughter. She volunteered to deployment to Iraq and endured many hardships while over there. After having served 10 years and a deployment she continues to have to deal with PTSD and long list of other medical problems. However she doesn’t let that stop her from being a mom, wife, friend and a selfless woman. Today Jodie is happily married to her husband Brad and they have 3 amazing kids and 2 beautiful grandchildren. They recently just gained temporary guardianship of Jodie’s nephew, who is autistic, and her two nieces because their mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer. She has gone above and beyond to make sure these children have everything they need to move forward in life and be successful. It’s been a struggle emotionally and financially for her but you would never know because she exudes positivity and always makes sure to keep a smile on her face for her family.”
