INGREDIENTS

PIE CRUST:

  • 2 ¼ cups of flower
  • 2 stick of unsalted butter (chilled, cubed)
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 7 tablespoons of ice water

Pulse in the blender until all ingredients have combined.
Place in the refrigerator for 2 hours for moldable pie crust.
Makes enough for two crusts.

 

FRESH CHERRY PIE FILLING:

  • 10 cups or 2 bags of fresh pitted cherries
  • 1 ½ cup of sugar
  • ¼ cup of cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of butter

Mix all together in large bowl until cherries are covered in sugar and cornstarch.

 

Place pie in the oven at 400F for 20 minutes.
Reduce heat to 375F and bake for another 40 minutes.
Let it cool down for 8 hours. Best served room temperature.
