I hope everyone had an awesome Superbowl weekend. I know I did. But depending on where you live across the country, the level of excitement for the game surely varied. Here it seemed to be lukewarm at best. I opened the doors of my sports bar at noon on Saturday. Note to self: open the doors at 2:30 or even 3pm next year. Not a single customer walked through my doors until after 2:00. It was crazy. I can’t remember ANY other time that has happened. Anyway, we slowly got busy and the game got underway. Ok, here is some DUH news. Alicia Keys was awesome. Beyoncé was awesome. And that’s all the time I have for DUH News! How cool was it to see Destiny’s child back on stage together? Think about this: in the last 2 weeks, Beyoncé has been in Washington D.C. singing at the inauguration and then 2 weeks later she was a part of one of the best halftime shows EVER! In fact, it was so cool, she shorted out the lights at the Superdome. I wonder if any singer ever performed at the inauguration and then at halftime of the Superbowl 2 weeks later? Hmmm someone do some research for me and get back with me please. Thanks!
Anyway, I watched the first half and a little bit of the third at my bar and then we made our way to get some to-go food and we went to her place to watch the end of the game.
What a great ending to a great game. New Orleans was the place to be this past weekend. It will no doubt be the place to be for the next 10 days or so as we welcome in Mardi Gras. I’ve been there, done that for Mardi Gras. Yes, everyone should experience it once…but be prepared. You will see someone peeing on the side of a building at least 3-4 times per night.
And that’s why I’m going to New Orleans the FOLLOWING WEEKEND! Yup, we are headed to New Orleans to hang out for a day.
Speaking of New Orleans, this is the last week of my weight loss bet. We weigh in on Fat Tuesday and the person that has lost the least amount of weight will pay for a trip for 4 to New Orleans…at last check, I was winning by 2 pounds.
