Big Al’s B&B Experience
Big Al’s B&B Experience

I didn’t have a lot going on this weekend but I did keep my commitment of working out. Well, my commitment was to do a 30-minute (minimum) run each day for 30 days. So, I’m only 3 days in but it’s a start, right?

I never got into the night that I spent in a bed and breakfast in Waxahachie. It is a Super cute House that is located a half-mile from my restaurant. They have 5 rooms and 4 of them were occupied with guests. Even though the concept of a Hotel or even an apartment is very similar, there was something about being in a house that made it feel way different. The house was filled with antiques and lots of memories. It was over 100 years old. Then, after a nice quiet night in bed, it was time for breakfast… The 3 couples and me. We gathered around the table and breakfast was served. Ok, it was a little awkward…being in someone’s home that I didn’t know. I had a key to the House as well as a key to my room. I could come and go as I chose. But it was someone’s “House!” It was just different. But the Breakfast was delicious. Then, the Husband/owner of the house came and sat down to give us the history of the house and even some history of the town while we all ate breakfast. And after his 20-minute talk, the wife came and did the same. It was actually very interesting. It was my first Bed and Breakfast experience but I would definitely do it again.
