Man, I’m glad that the Cinco de Mayo weekend celebration is over. Don’t get me wrong. I love having parties. I LOVE planning events. In fact, that is what I am… I’m an event planner. I’m not a bar owner. If you want to know what my happy hour specials are, I can’t tell you that…BUT, I can tell you how much it costs to have Coolio show up and I can get you a stage, a sound guy and lighting. I have loved throwing parties my entire life. Maybe, I get it from my grandmother. She used to have these big family gatherings and invite relatives and friends over and my grand dad would BBQ in the back yard and we would have the best times. And now, the parties have transitioned to Bar promotions. Sir Mix A Lot came in and did his thing at my bar last night and everyone was singing and dancing right along with him all night long. Even my girlfriend had a good time.

Speaking of my girlfriend, I tried to make things better last night. But trying to make things better on the same night as a huge bar promotion is going on is not the easiest thing to do. I did buy her a birthday cake and I gave it to her just before Sir Mix A Lot sang Baby Got Back.

Despite a few problems, the evening went relatively well. And I am actually glad that I don’t have any huge promotions going on for the next couple of weeks. Now, I feel like I can kind of chill for a little bit and take a break from the party planning for a minute. We’ll see how long that lasts…
