I was trying to figure out what to do on a “mini-date” yesterday. It was only going to be about 2 hours and she would be coming from work. So we met up and the plan was to get a bite to eat and maybe a glass of wine since it was half-price wine day. Anyway, things were going well as we chatted. My phone rang and it was my mom so I took the call. Mom sounded a little down so I stepped outside to talk to her. That’s when she told me that two other dogs had attacked her little dog Maverick. Maverick is a house doggie but she does put him on a leash that reaches to the front door when it’s time to go potty. Anyway, she heard the commotion outside and she opened the door and shooed the other dogs away. She took him to the vet and they had to do surgery on him. And later in the day they transferred him to another doggie hospital. So, he’s still there and we are hoping for the best.

So, I got off the phone and went back inside to tell my new friend what was going on. After telling her the story, She immediately told me to go to my mom’s house. I agreed that would be a good idea. So we finished our appetizer and I took off. I’m so glad that she was so adamant about me going immediately. It did seem to lift my mom’s spirits a bit. So, please keep little Maverick and my mom in your prayers today.
