Stories are usually a LOT more interesting when something goes wrong but I’m happy to report that even though I was very worried about the event that I was involved with, nothing went horribly wrong. And that is a credit to all of the other people that were involved with the planning and execution of this event. It was definitely a team effort. What a relief!!!
The event was called the Waxahachie Craft Beer and Music Festival and I was in charge of the MUSIC! I started the “setting up” at 3am. I couldn’t sleep so I just got up and started working. I set up the stage trailer, I set up the bar trailer and then, I set up the pizza trailer. Then, a few short hours later, everything was ready to go. The beer vendors showed up. A few other food trucks showed up. It was starting to actually look like a real event was taking place. We built it and people came! Everyone seemed to have a pretty good time at the event and the Chamber of Commerce people and City Officials all seemed to be happy about the outcome. This was the 1st annual and we will definitely have a 2nd annual!
That was pretty much all I did this weekend. Setting up for the event, And cleaning up after the event consumed my entire weekend so there was not a lot of Father’s Day celebration going on. How do people that plan these events do this every week? There’s so much work and stress involved. Much love to all of the event planners out there.
