One of my bartenders suggested a friend of his to come work for me. So, I hired her and she actually had been doing a pretty good job. But Friday, she didn’t show up. So by 11am, guess who was bartending??? Yes, it was me. And at this point, I had still not heard from the person that was supposed to have arrived by 10a.

Then, at 11:30, a young lady walked in and simply asked, “Are you guys hiring?” My reply, “Yes, we are and you are hired!” Then, I asked her if she had ever bartended before? She said “No.” I told her that was ok and I would train her. I asked her if she could start immediately and she said yes. So, she stepped behind the bar and I began showing her how to bartend and run the register.

I have to admit, this was a huge gamble but she did not let me down. She was constantly asking what she could do next and smiled as customers walked in and greeted them with a great attitude. By the way, She also worked Saturday as well as Sunday and made lots of tips.
