“Christina epitomizes selflessness. Christina served in the Army as an uncommonly recognized female combat medic overseas. At the time, she was providing for her daughter as a single parent. The countless sacrifices she has made is astonishing, but Christina admits that serving had always been her dream. In her current job, Christina connects disabled veterans with local resources to address homelessness, job seeking, and VA benefits. In her free time, Christina volunteers with a therapy group for women veterans. She serves as a Veterans Justice Outreach Program mentor. Christina encourages others to participate in local fundraisers to raise awareness for veteran issues. Christina humbly carries the quiet dignity of her service and knows that being a veteran is not about accolades. She has admitted that she will continue to make sacrifices from active duty for the rest of her life. Christina gives every day for the love of her country. It’s time that we give back to her.”
