Box office weekend news… Katy Perry will perform at Super Bowl… Demi Lovato and Wilmer ‘s one step away… Are Johnny Depp and Amber Heard still engaged?… and Highlights at the American Music Awards

“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay — Part 1” stomped the competition at the box office, earning $123 million. That wasn’t as strong as the two previous “Hunger Games” movies, which out-earned “Mockingjay” by at least $30 million each, so the movie studio is disappointed! Coming in second was “Big Hero 6” with $20.1 million, followed by “Interstellar” with $15.1 million.

I thought is was a done deal, but the NFL made it official last night when Bob Costas announced during halftime of the Cowboys-Giants game that Katy Perry will perform the halftime show at Super Bowl XLIX (49). Katy tweeted, “My band is in the other room screaming at the TV (and each other) over this Cowboys-Giants game. Can’t wait for February 1st…”

RadarOnline.com is reporting that Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama are shacking up. Yep! That’s one step away from marriage and baby. Or baby and marriage. But why the heck bother with marriage because it’s Hollywood, right? But one source overheard Demi shopping for furniture in Sherman Oaks, telling the sales clerk that she wanted their bedroom to be romantic, dark and passionate. She also bought a ton of candles because she said Wilmer like candles. Earlier this year, an insider told Radar that Demi is hoping that Wilmer will ask her to marry him before the year is up and time is ticking on that.

Are Johnny Depp and Amber Heard still engaged? Some are saying the relationship is definitely in trouble. “Star” magazine is reporting that Amber was mortified by Johnny’s drunken behavior onstage at the Hollywood Film Awards. But sources say the only reason he was drunk in the first place was because tabloids have been reporting that Amber cheated on him with her “Magic Mike XXL” costar, Channing Tatum.

Some of the highlights at the American Music Awards last night — Taylor Swift opened the show with her new single “Blank Space.” She was a crazy person on stage, even holding fire in the palm of her hand! Taylor got very emotional during Selena Gomez’s performance of “The Heart Wants What It Wants,” which is about her relationship with Justin Bieber. At one point, Selena paused and whispered , “Thank you, Jesus” to herself, and her eyes filled with tears at the end of the song. Jennifer Lopez and Iggy Azalea closed the AMAs with their censor-friendly version of “Booty.” And in between all the performances, which included One Direction, Lorde, Fergie, Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj, just to name a few, they handed out awards! One Direction won Favorite Pop Rock Band, Duo, or Group, Favorite Pop/Rock Album and Artist of the Year; Sam Smith won Favorite Pop Rock Male; Katy Perry took Favorite Pop Rock Female; Iggy Azalea won Favorite Rap/Hip Hop Artist;  and Favorite New Artist was Five Seconds of Summer.
