Jenna’s Blog: Bikini Shopping With an Audience

I never thought I would be grateful that Kellie Rasberry will never wear a bikini, but today I am. Kellie, being the huge radio star that she is, was offered a bathing suit fitting and gift card to the best bathing suit shop it town. It was part of a huge media day and they were having all these specials. Well, Kellie said there was no way she was taking part in anything that had to do with putting a bathing suit on in front of others, even if it meant a FREE bathing suit. When has Kellie ever turned down something free?! I don’t know, but when she offered up me to go in her place, I didn’t ask any questions. Yesterday was finally time to go to the store and have my professional fitting and I think the last thing any girl ever wants to do is go bathing suit shopping.

Luckily I got spray tanned recently so that helped a little bit. Female swimsuit shopping is just such an awkward situation. 3 female employees watched me as I tried on all of their recommendations which was no less than 20 bikinis. Wearing underwear to try on bathing suits is mandatory, because who knows how many girl parts have been in there. That combined with the fact that I really needed a bikini wax made for a great modeling look. I don’t care how great your body is, there is something uncomfortable about being that exposed in bad lighting with mirrors on every angle of you and 3 women deciding what they like or don’t like about it.

When the first commment is, “VEGAS Bikini”, I know that’s probably not the bikini for me since I won’t be wearing it with high heels. I ended up actually buying a bathing suit in a color which is new for me. Leaving the store I finally felt like it was all worth it since I got such a great deal on a designer bikini. So thanks Kellie Ras, it was a humbling body experience and you would not have enjoyed it at all.
