Mariah Carey cancels show… Season 14 “American Idol” winner… Lindsay Lohan community service update… Why did Patrick Dempsey really leave “Grey’s Anatomy”?… and Australia threatens to kill Johnny Depp’s dogs
Only a week into her Vegas residency, Mariah Carey was forced to cancel last night’s show. She told her fans on Instagram: “Hey guys.. I’ve been fighting bronchitis for the past few days.. almost better but on mandatory vocal rest per doctor’s orders. I’m so sorry to cancel tonight’s show but I promise to make it up to you!!! Love you always, MC.”
SPOILER ALERT: The winner of the second-to-the-last season of “American Idol” is………..not Clark Beckham. After two hours of performances by the likes of Ricky Martin, NKOTB, Fallout Boy, Chris Brown, Steven Tyler, and the current judges, Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr., we finally learned that Nick Fradiani was the winner. He then performed his new single, “Beautiful Life,” which is the official anthem for Fox Sports’ coverage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup in June.
Paparazzi caught Lindsay Lohan showing up for her first day of community service work almost two hours later. But apparently the administrator at this children’s center in Brooklyn is star struck because she’s insisting that Lindsay was actually early. Whatever. Reportedly, Lindsay kept busy with clerical work when she wasn’t taking smoke breaks.
Apparently, there’s more to Patrick Dempsey leaving “Grey’s Anatomy” than just his diva behavior. According to a source, Patrick began an affair with one of the show’s staff members last August. His co-star Ellen Pompeo just so happens to be good friends with Patrick’s wife, so she told her what was going on, which is what led to their impending divorce. And since show creator Shonda Rimes has no patience for diva-like behavior and extra-marital affairs, she decided to write him off the show.
The agriculture minister of Australia has a warning for Johnny Depp: Get your dogs out of the country ASAP or they will be put to sleep! Johnny sneaked his dogs, Pistol and Boo, into Australia on his private jet to keep him company while he films yet another “Pirates of the Caribbean” movie. But Barnaby Joyce says celebrities are no different than anyone else and they have to follow the rules. He told the press, “Just because he’s Johnny Depp does not mean he’s exempt from Australian law. You start letting in movie stars, even though they have been the Sexiest Man Alive twice, who come into our nation, why don’t we just break the laws for everybody?” Mr. Joyce said yesterday that Johnny’s “now got about 50 hours left to remove the dogs. He can put them on the same charter jet he flew out on and fly them back out of our nation.” And if he doesn’t? Mr. Joyce said the dogs must be euthanized.
