So how’s it going, HBO Max? If you look at the numbers, meh. But the numbers are a bit misleading. HBO Max had 87K app downloads on its first day. Compare that to Disney+, which saw 4M installations and10M subscribers on its day one. But here’s the difference — HBO Max was a free upgrade to existing HBO Now subscribers, so those numbers aren’t included. Plus, there apparently was a dispute over revenue sharing which meant HBO Max wasn’t available on Amazon.com’s Fire TV and Roku, which are the two biggest streaming-device providers, accounting for more than 80M streaming households in the US.

Sylvester Stallone is now 73 and a worldwide superstar. But back in 1976, nobody knew the guy. He was an unknown actor who wrote a screenplay, sold it and insisted on playing the lead. The super low budget “Rocky” went on to win 3 Oscars and spawn seven sequels, including the most recent, “Creed II” starring Michael B. Jordan. In the documentary, Sly says, “You’re a very lucky person when you can find out that the best friend you ever had is some character that just popped out of your mind, someone who was always there when things got rough and never quit on me.”

Plot twist!! Carole Baskin’s main mission was to shut down Joe Exotic’s zoo in Wynnewood, OK, and now she owns it. Joe Exotic is now serving 22 years in prison on animal cruelty charges and hiring a hitman to kill Carole Baskin. Back in 2016, Carole won a $1M judgement against Joe in a copyright infringement lawsuit, which he never paid. At the same time, Joe transferred his zoo and the property to his mom and Jeff Lowe. A federal judge says that was a fraudulent move to avoid creditors, so yesterday he granted that land to Carole Baskin. The judge also gave Jeff Lowe 120 days get off the property, which he had been anticipating. He told TMZ that he was just glad the judge dragged it out this long because it gave him time to prepare his new zoo in Thackerville, OK.

The final episode of “Fuller House” is now streaming on Netflix. Michelle Tanner stuck to her guns and never showed her face in all five seasons. But if you halfway expected to see Aunt Becky pop up in some way, that’s a solid no. Lori Loughlin isn’t even in a flashback. Uncle Jesse explains Aunt Becky’s absence, saying she’s “in Nebraska helping out her mother.” So basically, rather than come up with something super creative, they just stole the same idea from the other show that fired Lori Laughin when the whole college admissions scandal broke. “When Calls the Heart” said her character had gone back east to help her sick mother and they never mentioned her again.

#BlackOutTuesday started as a way for the music industry to protest the death of George Floyd. Now that it’s spread like wildfire across social media platforms, but people behind Black Lives Matter are asking everyone not to use the #BlackLivesMatter when posting an image of a plain black square on their feeds. The intentions are good, but as Kumail Nanjiani posted, “If you are participating in this, don’t use the tag #BlackLivesMatter. It’s pushing down important and relevant content. Use #BlackOutTuesday.” Jameela Jamil, however, isn’t participating in Black Out Tuesday. She suggested, “Instead of blackout, only highlight black activists, educational content, donation information, and imagery that depicts the truth of the protests.”
