Brad Paisley skipped the CMAs

“The Masked Singer” spoiler… Squidward is getting a spinoff… People’s magazine issued a warning… Kanye West’s Sunday Service… and Brad Paisley skipped the CMA Awards

SPOILER ALERT!! Last night, the voice behind the Ladybug costume was revealed on “The Masked Singer.” Among the wrong guesses were Jamie Lynn Spears, Lindsay Lohan and Paris Jackson. But it turns out Kelly Osbourne had been fooling almost everybody this whole time. And now we’re left with Fox, Flower, Tree and Rottweiler. Best guesses on the internet seem to be Wayne Brady, Patti LaBelle, Ana Gasteyer and Chris Daughtry.

Yesterday, Netflix and Nickelodeon announced a new deal estimated to be worth $200M. Nickelodeon will produce original content based on existing and new characters. The deal includes a new SpongeBob musical spin-off about Squidward.

This week, People named John Legend as this year’s “Sexiest Man Alive.” Us Weekly tried to steal some of their thunder by releasing “The Real Sexiest Men Alive” online. Among their choices were Brad Pitt, Dwayne Johnson, Jason Momoa and Chris Hemsworth. I use the word “were” because People’s attorneys were all over that, and now all traces of Us’ list have been removed. In addition to revealing the Sexiest Man Alive for the past 34 years, People has owned the trademark on that bad boy since 2002.

So Kanye West and his choir are going to perform at Joel Osteen’s megachurch in Houston this Sunday — but not during the morning service. The 11am service will still feature a conversation between Joel and Kanye, focusing on Kanye’s relationship with God. The first 45K people who show up for the service get a seat. Kanye and his choir will perform at the evening service, and from what TMZ is reporting, the people at Lakewood Church have contacted Ticketmaster to offer 45K tickets that are free, but they’re first come, first served. These are supposed to go up on the site tomorrow. If you look for it now, nothing comes up.

So I did a little googling, and the Country Music Association actually announced back in August that Carrie Underwood would be hosting this years award show with Dolly Parton and Reba McIntyre. For the past 11 years, it’s been Carrie and Brad Paisley. So why would Brad get the boot this year? It turns out, for the first time in the history of this awards show, a woman was nominated in every single category — except Male Vocalist of the Year, obviously. So for that reason alone, people are SUPER ticked off about who won Entertainer of the Year. Carrie Underwood was the ONLY woman nominated in that category. She was up against Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban. For SURE this award had to go to Carrie, right? It’s the Year of the Woman. Garth took the award and the internet is pissed. But other big winners of the night included Maren Morris! She won Album of the Year for “GIRL.” Kacey Musgraves won Female Vocalist and Music Video for “Rainbow.” The winner of New Artist was Ashley McBryde. But besides Garth, men won a bunch of other stuff. Song of the Year went to “Beautiful Crazy” which was co-written by Luke Combs, who also won Male Vocalist. Friends of the Show Old Dominion won Vocal Group and Dan + Shay won Vocal Duo. And Single of the Year went to Blake Shelton for “God’s Country.” Of course, all anybody is talking about is how his ex-wife Miranda Lambert and her new husband Brendan McLoughlin just sat there when everybody else stood up and clapped after Blake’s performance…
