Lil Wayne is mourning the loss of a very special man in his life. Twenty-seven years ago, when Lil Wayne was only 12-years-old, he tried to commit suicide by shooting himself in the chest. Robert Hoobler was off duty when he heard about this shooting over his police radio and rushed to the scene, and Lil Wayne credits Officer Hoobler with saving his life. Weezy has told the story about how all the responding officers jumped over his body and started searching the home for additional firearms and drugs….except for Officer Hoobler, who Weezy came to call Uncle Bob. In an interview, Weezy said that when the officers saw him lying on the floor, “ …they just jumped clean over me and went through the house talkin’ bout, ‘I found the drugs, I found the gun.’ And so it took a guy named Uncle Bob and he ran up there. When he got to the top of the steps and saw me there he refused to step over me. One of them yelled like, ‘I got the drugs,” and that’s when he went crazy. And he was like, ‘I don’t give a (BLANK) about no drugs. Do you not see the baby on the ground?’” Officer Hoobler then rushed Lil Wayne’s body out of the apartment and laid him across his lap int he backseat of a squad car as another officer rushed them to the closest emergency room. He literally is the reason Lil Wayne is alive today. But now, Weezy is mourning the death of the man he lovingly called “Uncle Bob.” He posted on Instagram, “Everything happens for a reason. I was dying when I met u at this very spot. U refused to let me die. Everything that doesn’t happen, doesn’t happen for a reason. That reason being you and faith.”

U2 is going to do their first residency at the brand new MSG Sphere when it opens in Las Vegas in 2023. The new $1.8B arena is connected to the Venetian Hotel by a 1000-foot-long pedestrian bridge. The venue promises fans “a multi-sensory experience of sound and light inside the largest spherical structure ever created.” For concerts, the MSG Sphere can hold 20K standing spectators or 17,500 seated guests. The Sphere will include 160K-square feet of interior immersive display video viewing, state-of-the-art spatial audio and an exterior exosphere that changes the building’s look via fully programmable LED technology.” Billboard says U2 will be the first residency in place at the arena, and that it will “be part of a residency that will be spread out over several months and be performed on non-consecutive days.”

Nick Cannon and Bre Ties have welcomed their baby boy into the world. This is her first and his eighth. Nick is expecting his 9th child with Abby De La Rosa, who’s also given Nick a set of twins. Nick and Bre haven’t revealed their son’s name just yet. But she shared a series of emotional photos from her “all natural unmedicated home birth,” as well as a video on YouTube documenting her “pregnancy, natural induction, labor and delivery.” Bre wrote, “This experience has changed me forever and I couldn’t of asked for a more amazing and supportive partner. Daddy showed the f up for us.. I couldn’t of done it without you. I can’t believe he’s here.”

Britney Spears is reportedly ready to make her comeback! According to Page Six, she sneaked into a recording studio in Beverly Hills last week to record “Tiny Dancer” with Sir Elton John. A source said, “This was Elton’s idea, and Britney is a huge fan. They’ve recorded a remix of ‘Tiny Dancer’ as a full duet, and it’s incredible.” The source said everyone who’s heard it is “freaking out” and saying this is going to be the song of the summer. So it sounds like we’ll be getting this greatness sooner rather than later. But a source told HollywoodLife, “Although Britney loved being back in the studio, she isn’t jumping headfirst into a full-fledged music career just yet. She wants to see how everyone reacts to this song before moving forward with more.”
