Tom Cruise has done all of his own stunts for decades, but a new story proves he’s a real-life action hero. Cinematographer Bill Bennett just revealed in a Facebook group called Crew Stories what happened on set of the 1987 movie “Cocktail” starring Tom Cruise and Elisabeth Shue. They were filming some beach scenes from a helicopter. And after every few scenes, they would land, and Tom and Elisabeth could come over and check out the footage. Because they kept landing and taking off, the pilot just left the rotors running while they were on the ground. Once, Elisabeth took off running toward the back of the chopper. The cinematographer said “The area at the back of the helicopter, where the tail rotor is spinning, is deadly. The rotor is invisible when it is spinning, and if you walk into it, it will kill you instantly.” Tom knew his way around aircraft and was already a fully trailed helicopter and jet pilot. He knew Elisabeth was in danger. So, he lunged at her legs and tackled her. “He rolled her over, dragging her at the same time, and you could see the anger on her face while she was yelling ‘Why did you do that?’” “But by that time he is pointing at the tail rotor which is now a couple feet away, screaming at her that she almost died. At that point she turned white…” Bill said, “All of us in the helicopter, we’re quite shaken up by the close call, but there was nothing to be said. Tom had, in that instant, truly saved her life.”

After almost a year and a half, cameras start rolling again next month for Season Nine of “Vanderpump Rules.” According to “Variety,” Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval most likely will be a focal point of the show as they focus on reopening the TomTom bar after shutting down for over a year thanks to the pandemic. Katie Maloney, James Kennedy, Ariana Maddix and Raquel Levis are reportedly returning. Lala Kent and Scheana Shay are also expected to be back. Both are new mommies. It looks like Bravo is sticking with their decision to fire Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute. And remember, Jax and Brittany released a statement back in December that they are leaving, as well. But it looks like Bravo allowed them to save face by announcing they were leaving because “Variety” says they were fired.

Logan Paul is preparing to take on a legend. He tweeted yesterday, “it’s finally official… fighting @FloydMayweather at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami on Sunday, June 6. LET’S F***ING GOOOOOOO (boxing glove emoji).’ Yes, Mayweather Promotions and Fanmio with Showtime present Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul…The Champ vs. The Maverick. This fight was originally supposed to happen February 20, but ended up being postponed. Floyd hasn’t fought professionally since 2017, when he went in the ring with Conor McGregor in a completely unfair fight, earning his 50th victory. Back in November 2019, Logan had his first — and so far only — professional fight against British YouTube star KSI. He lost. Floyd is now 44. Logan is 26.

We have another Matt James and Rachael Kirkconnell siting. TMZ got photos of the two them hanging out this past weekend in Santa Monica. They were both trying to be all incognito, but it wasn’t working. Meantime, “Us Weekly” is reporting that Katie Thurston’s season of “The Bachelorette” is a wrap! In fact, they finished a full week ahead of schedule. A source said Katie “made sure the men she wanted were there and the men she wasn’t interested in, she sent packing.” Season 17 of “The Bachelorette” premieres on June 7.

Britney Spears’ attorney was in court for a status update on her conservatorship yesterday and blindsided us all with this news. The attorney told the judge, “The conservatee has requested that I seek from the court a status hearing at which she can address the court directly.” The attorney didn’t say what specifically Britney wants to address, but asked that this be done as soon as possible. The judge set the hearing for June 23.
