Cardi B Surprises Offset With $500,000 Cash

Weekend box office news… Update on Chelsea Handler’s sidekick… Chance The Rapper cancels tour… Britney Spears has a holiday message and Cardi B surprises Offset with $500,000 cash

“Jumanji: The Next Level” debuted in first place over the weekend with $60.1M. That bumped “Frozen 2” down to second with $19.2M, BUT! In just four weeks, “Frozen 2” crossed the $1B mark in worldwide ticket sales. (It took the original “Frozen” 15 weeks to do that.) “Frozen 2” is the eighth movie to reach the one billion dollar mark this year, and the sixth that came from Disney. The other seven billion dollar movies of 2019 are “The Lion King,” “Spider-Man: Far From Home,” “Captain Marvel,” “Toy Story 4,” “Joker,” “Aladdin,” and “Avengers: Endgame,” which is the top-grossing movie of all time, with $2.79 billion globally. All but Sony’s “Spider-Man” and Warner Bros.’ “Joker” were released by Disney.

Chuy Bravo was Chelsea Handler’s short-statured, longstanding sidekick on “Chelsea Lately.” Just last week, he celebrated his 63rd birthday and Chelsea posted a happy birthday message to him on her Instagram. Yesterday, Chelsea was posting a message in remembrance of him. Chuy was in Mexico City visiting family Saturday when he was hit by a severe stomach ache. He passed away in the hospital’s emergency room. His family had a service for him on Sunday and he was cremated.

Chance the Rapper was supposed to kick off his “Big Tour” on September 14 in San Francisco, but ended up pushing it to a January 15th kickoff in San Diego. His second daughter Marli had just been born and he wanted to take paternity leave. But now Chance has decided to cancel the entire tour. He posted on social media yesterday, “I know it sucks and it’s been a lot of back and forth with reschedules and rerouting, but it’s for the best. I’m gonna take this time to be with family, make some new music and develop my best show to date. I’m deeply sorry to anyone with a ticket who has supported me this past decade by coming to a show and rocking out with me and I feel even worse for anyone who was planning on making this their first Chance concert.” He went on to promise “to come back stronger and better in 2020.”

Britney Spears loves sharing her life with us on Instagram, but the trolls do wear on her. Britney just shared a video montage showing off her Christmas tree and then her outfit, which wasn’t very Christmas-y but she was feeling super cute in it. She captioned the video, “Happy holidays friends !!!! I love sharing with you all … but it’s been hard to keep wanting to share because people say the meanest things !!! If you don’t like a post … just keep it to yourself and unfollow that person !!! There’s no reason to ever go out of your way to make mean comments and bully people 😢😢😢 Stay happy and nice this holiday season y’all and God Bless !!!!!”

Some people say giving cash is the least thoughtful gift you can give. But for others, cash is KING!!! And for her King’s birthday on Saturday, Cardi B gifted Offset with half a million dollars in cold, hard cash — literally cold and hard because she put it all inside a refrigerator. She posted a video of the big moment, telling Offset, “You got every car. You got every jewelry. You got everything. You got every shoe. You know what I’m saying. What else can I give somebody that got everything? The fridge!” But she was just joshing. He opened the fridge to find stacks and stacks. Well, just like most people with birthdays close to Christmas, Cardi told him that was IT. She said, “Happy birthday. And don’t expect no Christmas gift from me. Ain’t no Christmas gift. Only for the kids.” Then they were off to celebrate Offset’s birthday with strippers and Popeye’s chicken sandwiches.
