Weekend box office news… Madonna battles with her son, Rocco… Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin’s relationship… Are Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus back together?… and Chris Brown is accused of battery
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” broke the New Year’s box office record, and when the final numbers come out today, we should find out that it’s passed “Avatar” to become the top-grossing domestic movie of all time. Over the weekend, “Star Wars” brought in another $88.3 million, with a total domestic gross so far of over $740 million in just 18 days. Coming in second this weekend was “Daddy’s Home” starring Will Farrell and Mark Wahlberg with $29 million in its second week. Quentin Tarantino’s “The Hateful Eight” took third with $16.2 million.
Celebrities really are like us. Sometimes their teenage kids hate them, too! Madonna is in a heated battle with her 15-year-old son Rocco, who has now blocked his mom from viewing his Instagram page, so we know this is serious! Rocco had been on his mom’s Rebel Heart Tour until last month. When the tour stopped in England, Rocco abandoned ship and moved in with his dad, Guy Ritchie. Madonna demanded Rocco come home to NY for the holidays, but Rocco refused, and now his parents are locked in an international child custody battle. A judge in Manhattan has ordered Rocco to return to NY for a hearing in February, but a London court says it’s fine if Rocco stays right where he is — with his dad.
For months it’s been rumored that Justin Bieber had something going on with Hailey Baldwin, but both of them kept insisting they were just friends. As far back as last February, Hailey told E! News that she’s been friends with Justin since she was about 13 and that people automatically assume that any girl hanging around him is his girlfriend. And when rumors about Justin and Hailey got real intense, Justin posted, “People are crazy. I’m super single and this is my good friend u would know otherwise.” But apparently these two friends took a good long look at each other and decided, Why not! Justin and Hailey have been vacationing in St. Barts and have been posting their kissy pictures all over Instagram. But then he posted, “Don’t waste your time picking apart this photo. What you do shouldn’t be decided by someone else’s decisions. Spend more time focusing on who people are, and less on what they do unless it’s directly affecting you!”
What the heck is he thinking??? Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus celebrated the New Year together at a music festival in Australia. Sources say they were “cuddling and kissing” in the backstage VIP area with a big group that included Liam’s brothers and their wives. We haven’t seen any photographic evidence of this “cuddling and kissing” but we have seen proof that they were there together. Liam takes no responsibility for his emotional bond to Miley. He told “Men’s Fitness” bad in October, “You fall in love with who you fall in love with; you can never choose. I guess some people just come with a little more baggage. I mean, look — we were together five years, so I don’t think those feelings will ever change. And that’s good because that proves to me that it was real. It wasn’t just a fling. It really was an important part of my life and always will be.”
A new year and a new allegation of abuse has been made against Chris Brown. Liziane Gutierrez claims that she was invited to a party in Chris’ room at the Palms Casino Resort Hotel this past Saturday but when she tried to take a picture of him, he forcefully took the phone away from her and left her with a black eye. Chris responded that he didn’t even know this woman, saying she was old and ugly and dusty and that this was just an attempt to get money out of him. But he’s not taking this lying down. In fact, Chris said, “I’m going to be hella rich after all the lawsuits I file from these crazy individuals who keep lying on my name. Happy NEW YEAR! Time for some of us to grow the (BLANK) up.” Reportedly, Chris plans to file a defamation lawsuit against Liziane today.
