Carrie Fisher & Debbie Reynolds’ memorial service… Lamar Odom released from rehab… Val is defending Amber Rose… Nicki Minaj is single… and Will there be a Chris Brown vs. Soulja Boy boxing match?
Debbie Reynolds and daughter Carrie Fisher were exceptionally close. They even lived next door to each other. Last week, they died one day apart. Debbie’s son, Todd, said her final words to him were, “I want to be with Carrie.” And then she went to sleep and was gone. Yesterday, many of their celebrity friends paid their respects at a private memorial at Debbie and Carrie’s homes. Billie Lourd was there to remember both her mother and grandmother. Her “Scream Queens” co-stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Taylor Lautner, who is also Billie’s boyfriend, were there. Meryl Streep, Meg Ryan, Courtney Love and her daughter Frances Bean, Ellen Barkin, and Ed Begley Jr. were among the other mourners. Debbie and Carrie will be buried together today at a cemetery in the Hollywood Hills.
After a 30-day treatment, Lamar Odom has been released from rehab. Sources say this was all Lamar’s idea and that he’s doing great. The last thing he did before checking into rehab was sit down for an interview with Dr. Travis Stork from “The Doctors,” which we can watch on January 17. The word is that Lamar wants to do a reality show.
Amber Rose and Val Chmerkovskiy went Instagram official. Cue the social media trolls. Val is defending his woman, tweeting, “It matters 0% what people who dont know you think about you. All that matters is what the people who really know U and love U think about you.”
Nicki Minaj says it’s true. She broke up with Meek Mill. She tweeted yesterday, “To confirm, yes I am single. Focusing on my work and looking forward to sharing it with you guys really soon. Have a blessed New year. Love u.” Meek confirmed it, too, posting a pair of Nicki’s wedge tennis shoes that he apparently didn’t care for, captioning it, “If you walk out don’t wear these they whack.” But if Nicki is willing to go back to the well, her ex Safaree Samuels is putting it out there that he’s maybe sorta kinda interested.
Chris Brown and Soulja Boy have been going back and forth on social media. Soulja Boy claims it started when he liked a picture Chris’ ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran had posted. And then Chris got even madder after Soulja Boy posted something about his daughter Royalty. Chris challenged Soulja Boy to a fight and Soulja boy accepted at first. But then he apologized to Chris, saying he’d been “acting up” because his mom was in the hospital. He actually said he wants to make music with Chris. But then 50 Cent got involved, saying he wanted to have Chris and Soulja Boy fight on pay-per-view and then Floyd Mayweather signed on to train Soulja Boy. So it looks like this actually might happen!
