Here are some quick TV tidbits — Hardly any primetime pilots are being ordered this season. CBS and FOX have exactly zero in the works right now. NBC has Suits: LA, Grosse Pointe Garden Society, and a still-untitled comedy starring Reba McEntire in the works. ABC is giving Tim Allen another comedy series called Shifting Gears. In this one, Tim will play the widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop whose estranged daughter and teenage grandchildren move in with him. As far as daytime drama, there are only 4 still in production. Days of Our Lives is now streamed on Peacock. General Hospital still airs on ABC. On CBS, we’ve got The Bold & the Beautiful and The Young & the Restless, which was recently renewed through the end of 2028. But now, CBS has announced they are teaming up with the NAACP to develop a new soap opera centered around the lives of a wealthy Black family. This is the first new soap opera introduced since Passions in 1999, and the first predominantly Black soap opera since Generations debuted in 1989!

Kylie Jenner isn’t staying in her own lane. She is the latest celebrity — and the second Jenner — to launch her own alcoholic beverage brand. Big sister Kendall has 818 Tequila, and now Kylie has Spinter — a 100-calorie canned vodka soda and fruit juice line that comes in four flavors: black cherry, peach, grapefruit and lime. Sprinter will be sold in an 8-can variety pack for $19.99, and it will be available in stores starting March 21. Back in October 2022, Kylie became an equity stakeholder and brand ambassador for Glow Beverages, a sparkling vitamin water drink founded by Cowboys QB Dak Prescott. Sprinter is her first foray into adult beverages.

March Madness kicks off March 17 with Selection Sunday, and when all the dust has settled the Final Four and championship games will be held April 5-7 in Phoenix. Yesterday, the NCAA announced that the tournament will conclude with three days of music — all free for those who have tickets to the games. The lineup includes the Jonas Brothers, Zedd, Mumford & Sons, The Black Keys, Renee Rapp, Remi Wolf, Nathaniel Ratliff & the Night Sweats and Leon Bridges. For schedule information and details on how to get these zero-dollar tickets, More information about the event’s schedule, as well as how to get these zero-dollar music festival tickets, go to NCAA.com/marchmadness/musicfest.

Following 2 weeks of testimony and less than 3 hours of deliberations, a jury in Santa Fe, New Mexico, found Hannah Gutierrez-Reed guilty of manslaughter but not guilty of tampering with evidence in the shooting death of Rust cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. Hannah was the armorer in charge of all the firearms used on the set of the rustic Western. The jury found that she was negligent by allowing a live bullet to be left in a gun Alec Baldwin was using on the set, which resulted in Halyna’s death. She now faces up to 18 months in jail. Sentencing will happen sometime next month. Alec will go on trial in the same courthouse this July and if he’s convicted, he also faces up to 18 months. Alec still claims he never pulled the trigger and that the gun went off on its own.

In an in interview with Bustle that was published earlier this week, Dakota Johnson talked about being a stepmother figure to Chris Martin’s kids, 19-year-old Apple and 17-year-old Moses. She said, “I love these kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.” That was just setting us up for the big announcement that Dakota and Chris are engaged! Chris and Dakota started dating back in 2017, briefly broke up in 2019, and have been together ever since. A source told the Mirror that Chris and Dakota have actually been engaged for a while, but aren’t in any rush to plan a wedding. Right now, they’re “just enjoying making their commitment official.” This will be Dakota’s first marriage. Chris was married to Gwyneth Paltrow for 11 years before they “consciously uncoupled” in 2014. Gwyneth went on to remarry Brad Falchuk in 2018, and she whole-heartedly approves of Dakota.
