In movie sequel news, Tom Cruise recently signed a deal with Warner Bros. Discovery to produce original and franchise films in which he will also star, but it also give him freedom to work with other studios. In fact, Tom reportedly is working on Top Gun 3 with Paramount. The screenwriter for Top Gun: Maverick reportedly is in the early stages of writing the script for the next one. It is believed that Miles Teller and Glen Powell are on board, as well. Another sequel that may or may not be happening is Bill and Ted 4. Alex Winter – who is Bill to Keanu Reeves’ Ted – says they’re “tinkering with a fourth movie idea.” He said, “It takes us time to get these things going, and we never want to do them unless they’re great.” Alex also says the fourth movie will only happen if he and Keanu are happy with the script Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson come up with. If you missed it, the last movie which was released in 2020 had Bill and Ted teaming up with their daughters to save humanity. And according to a new report, Fast and Furious 11 will be Vin Diesel’s last, and most likely the end of the franchise. And despite the cliffhanger at the end of Fast X, Jason Momoa will not be returning for the next one. According to reports, they’re getting back to the basics. While Fast X cost $340M, Fast 11 will have a $200M budget.

Way back in 1975, Lorne Michaels co-created Saturday Night Live. He’s served as a writer, producer and executive producer for more than 40 years, except for that 5-year break he took in the 80s. Lorne told Entertainment Tonight that he plans to stick with SNL through the show’s 50th anniversary, which will be in February 2025. But between now and then, he has to decide who will take over. Lorne said that while there are many people there now who could take over, “it could easily be Tina Fey.” Lorne said she’s someone he could trust with his SNL baby, adding, “Tina’s brilliant and great at everything. She’s a very important person in my life.” Tina joined SNL back in 1997 as a writer. Two years later, she was bumped up to head writer, and in 2000, she became part of the cast as co-anchor of Weekend Update with Jimmy Fallon. He was later replaced by Amy Poehler and she and Tina became the first all-female anchor team. In 2006, Tina left to write and star in 30 Rock, which was executive produced by Lorne Michaels. He’s also produced or executive produced several of Tina’s other projects, including all three versions of Mean Girls.

Nikki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 World Tour kicks off March 1 in Oakland. More than 25 of her arena shows have already sold out, making this Nikki’s most successful tour so far. This week, Nikki announced she’s adding 13 shows throughout the US and Europe, promising “more on the way.” Nashville has now been added to the tour, along with second shows in Atlanta, Boston and Toronto, and a third show in Brooklyn. On the international leg of her tour, Nikki has added more shows in the Netherlands, Scotland, the U.K., Germany, France, Denmark and Sweden. A Citi presale is going on now, but the general public can buy tickets starting at 9am local time on Friday.

According to analytics site SocialBlade, Ariana Grande has lost over 369K Instagram followers since the release of her new single “yes, and?” The song had over 11M streams on the first day it was released and debuted at No. 1 on the Global Spotify Chart. But a lot of Ariana’s fans weren’t happy with a lyric that apparently addresses her affair with Wicked co-star Ethan Slater, who left his wife and new baby for her. Ariana sings, “Your business is yours and mine is mine / Why do you care so much whose (BLANK) I ride?”

Before the lineup was even announced, people were snatching up passes for Coachella, which takes place over two weekends in April. They finally got around to announcing the lineup yesterday. Headlining both Friday nights is Lana Del Ray, along with a number of other acts including Peso Pluma, Lil Uzi Vert, Sabrina Carpenter, Tinashe, Chloe Bailey and Suki Waterhouse – who is due to deliver a baby this spring so her name should have a big question mark written beside it. Tyler the Creator headlines on Saturday, alongside other artists that include Ice Spice, Grimes, Jon Batiste, Bleachers, and Sublime. Then on Sunday, Doja Cat headlines, with J Balvin, Jhene Aiko, Lil Yachty, Bebe Rexha, Victoria Monet, Renee Rapp, and more on the schedule. Oh….and there’s also NO DOUBT!!! For the first time in almost a decade Gwen Stefani and the rest are getting the band back together for Coachella. No Doubt’s last album was 2012’s Push and Shove.
