A new biopic on Vanilla Ice called “To the Extreme” is in the works with Dave Franco starring as Robbie Van Winkle! The movie’s plot — “From a high school dropout selling cars in Dallas to having the first hip-hop single to top the Billboard charts with ‘Ice Ice Baby,’ a young Vanilla Ice struggles with stardom, extortion attempts, and selling out as he makes music history.” And he did! Vanilla Ice’s debut album “To the Extreme” was released in 1990 and became the fastest selling hip hop album of all time. It spent 16 weeks at #1, sold 15M copies worldwide, and gave us the greatness of “Ice Ice Baby.” But lightning didn’t strike twice, and Vanilla’s second album flopped. His career has been a roller coaster ride ever since. Dave said he’s had several phone calls with Vanilla Ice to discuss the role. He said, “Rob is such a sweet and intelligent guy and he’s been super helpful in the process of getting all the details correct and making us privy to information the public doesn’t know. Just talking to him I can’t help but think about the rabbit holes I’m going to go down to get ready for the role.”

There were rumors that Eminem and Mariah Carey secretly dated for about six months in the early 2000s. He says they did, she says they didn’t, and they’ve been feuding about it ever since. After he kept rapping about her and dissing her in interviews, Mariah responded with the song “Obsessed” and even dressed up like Eminem for the music video. He responded with “The Warning.” It was ugly. Eminem basically told her to keep his name out of her mouth and threatens, “Mariah, it ever occur to you that I still have pictures?” and “It’s a warning shot ‘fore I blow up ya whole spot. Call my bluff and I’ll release every (BLANKING) thing I got including the voicemails right before you flipped your top.” Mariah is releasing her memoir on September 29 so we’ll see how honest she’s willing to get. But sources told “Us Weekly” that Eminem is actually a little worried that she’ll say he’s bad in bed. The source said he’s always been insecure about that and Mariah knows it. But even he rapped about his lack of skills in “The Warning” when he graphically described their hookups.

Kim Kardashian finally broke her silence about Kanye’s very public struggle this week. He’s been ranting on Twitter that Kim and Kris Jenner have been trying to have him locked up on a psychiatric hold, but Kim said that’s not the case. She posted, “As many of you know, Kanye has bi-polar disorder. Anyone who has this or has a loved one in their life who does, knows how incredibly complicated and painful it is to understand…Those that understand mental illness or even compulsive behavior know that the family is powerless unless the member is a minor. People who are unaware or far removed from this experience can be judgmental and not understand that the individual themselves have to engage in the process of getting help no matter how hard family and friends try.” She went on to praise her husband for his brilliance, his heart and his genius, then pleaded, “I kindly ask that the media and public give us the compassion and empathy that is needed so that we can get through this..” Meantime, Us Weekly is reporting that Kim has met with divorce attorneys to discuss her options.

Taylor Swift had a huge surprise for her fans this morning. She’s dropping a new album called “Folklore” at midnight tonight! (Is that Eastern or Central, Taylor???) Taylor said she wrote and recorded the whole thing in isolation, but she did get to collaborate with some of her musical heroes, including Bon Iver and Jack Antonoff. Taylor said “Folklore” features 16 songs, but the deluxe edition will have a bonus track called “The Lakes.” And because this is her 8th studio album, Taylor is offering 8 deluxe CD editions and 8 deluxe vinyl editions that will be available for one week only on TaylorSwift.com. And Taylor threw in a bonus surprise, posting, “The music video for ‘cardigan’ will premiere tonight, which I wrote/directed…The entire shoot was overseen by a medical inspector, everyone wore masks, stayed away from each other, and I even did my own hair, makeup, and styling 😂”
Congratulations to Demi Lovato and Max Ehrich on their engagement! They each made the announcement on their Instagrams, complete with their engagement photos on the beach. Max was sneaky and had a photographer hiding behind the rocks to capture it all. In her post, Demi wrote, “@maxehrich – I knew I loved you the moment I met you.
